I’m So Disappointed In Tulsi Gabbard

She is not the person I voted for in the 2020 Democratic primary.
A woman who is usually outspoken and unafraid to be a voice of reason on foreign policy has turned into a puppet and figurehead of the intelligence community. On the campaign trail five years ago, she let loose on Trump calling him “Saudi Arabia’s bitch”. She said Trump’s hawkish behavior on Iran and Yemen pleased Benjamin Netanyahu and neoconservatives such as John Bolton and Mike Pompeo.
She has reversed her position on the bombing campaign in Yemen of the Houthis. Tulsi has been almost silent since Trump dismissed her testimony to Congress on Iran’s nuclear capabilities. She then praises Trump for the unstable ceasefire between Israel and Iran. Did she really think Israel and Iran would shake hands and play nice with each other now? C’mon Tulsi, I thought you were better than that.
Why is she still in the administration? To influence Trump to stay away from war and giving into the hawkish tendencies? I doubt it at this point. Does she still think she’ll gain traction with the MAGA base so it can help her in 2028? She’s usually a calculated, smart woman, but she dropped the ball on this one. She’s acting more like Nikki Haley than the Tulsi Gabbard I voted for, shook hands with and a took a picture with her in 2020. MAGA hates Nikki Haley, and MAGA hates Tulsi Gabbard’s recent actions.
Hell, I think MTG has a better shot at getting the MAGA vote than Tulsi in ‘28.
Tulsi Gabbard is a career politician, and the country has enough of ‘em fucking this country up.

You seriously calling someone that has over 20 years of military service with multiple deployments to the middle east a career politician?
sayzitlikeitis@reddit
I'm generally disappointed in her but in this particular instance it actually takes a lot of spine (more than most politicians we've seen) for her to disagree on the Iran nukes while being in the administration. Most people in her place wouldn't have taken the risk. I know she won't get either the maga vote or the progressive vote but she has my vote, at least for this particular instance.
MrBombbastik@reddit
She said she "changed" her core views ok. but at this point feels like she's doin a 180º like it's so spineless even republican .do they really even like her? cause the worst type of person is someone that stands on nothing. All her political credt it's straight up lick Donals balls to get some of his influence. But the wrost part is she changed ALL her views. she's literally doing nothing

Don't you think that Tulsi could be a little busy now as head of U.S. intelligence? She is being briefed hourly on every country's business, societies, military, including what is going on in the United States. Tulsi, I don't believe, she has changed any, but she has a new, very important roll to fill. From what I have observed so far, she is doing an excellent job of keeping the President informed and Americans safe.
MemePizzaPie@reddit
If she hadn’t changed since 2020 she wouldn’t be on Trumps cabinet. she’s a grifter chief plain and simple :/

Apparently from inside Trump sources, she was actually was a voice against an Iran attack. Trumps Cheif of Staff, Susan Wiles is basically an agent of Netanyahu and pushed her out of meetings, along with even Hegseth and Vance. Her and his CIA Director, Daniel Radcliffe, whose entire career has been cultivated by Israel, were pushing hard for Regime Change feeding Trump intel parroted straight from Mossad. General Milley has already designed the attack in March. There was bo emergency. Israel wanted to drag us into a regime change war.
Tulsi and Vance along with some other more America 1st staffers were holding separate meetings. She was forced to humiliate herself in Public, Vance to had to make statements, contrary to what he was voicing behind the scenes. America 1st influencers like Bannon and Carlson eventually got meetings with Trump and gave him perspective. Trump actually didn't want Regime change, but was conned by Israel and his own staff into almost leading us down that road.
So many Trump sycophants going by everything they hear on Fox News as if everything is part of the plan. As if there isnt major clashing factions within Trumps circle. This mission was chaos. Thank God, it didn't get out of control. It easily could've, if Iran didn't show restraint. Kinda defeats the argument that they're irrational, suicidal terrorists.
This all appears to have been theater. But it did serve the purpose of saying we "eliminated" Iran's nuclear program. Israel can no longer use this, as an excuse for regime change. As much as I don't believe we actually did eliminate it. I dont think its a good idea to egg him on to go back finish the job. Let everyone believe everyone won. I think was Trumps play. Even though little was actually accomplished, other than a bunch pf people being killed.

i wouldn't be surprised if elon was right and he was part of the files...and if lil jeffy was operating a blackmail op and bibi was like yea you want those files to come out we'll put em out unless u let us rip iran a new one
jefe4959@reddit
While Israel did damage Iran. Iran did a lot of damage to Israel. I think Iran could've actually held out much longer than Israel could've, they were down to just a few days of Iron Dome defenses. And their entire economy was completely shut down. I truly believe Israel thought with their Hubris that they could decapitate Iran's leadership and the country would collapse in revolt from their shock and awe attack. When that didn't work and Iran was able to inflict real damage they were begging the US to step in. When we didn't, they wanted a ceasefire. But for sure, I believe Trump is compromised by Israel Blackmail. However he was able to maneuver the situation, that gave all sides off ramps, which he does deserve credit for. But not that much, because it could've been avoided to begin with if he listened to Steve WitKoff, Tulsi and Vance over his chief of Staff and Israeli 1st members of his cabinet.

She only posted that part of her testimony to make it look like she’s not out of step with Trump’s decision to strike the nuclear facilities
Calm_Carpenter_2199@reddit
You didn’t read the article. It wasn’t about what she posted.
Miserable-Bit5939@reddit (OP)
Why would I bother? I know what she’s up to
Calm_Carpenter_2199@reddit
Apparently not
LactoceTheIntolerant@reddit
She’s not been right about much
plsobeytrafficlights@reddit
to be fair, her statements are only as accurate as the person paying her to talk. when she does repeat the information accurately, trump gets annoyed with her, which is probably why they are considering gutting her whole department.
thetennisgod@reddit
She can either have a job where she gets to talk directly to Trump and try and influence him, while doing the required full support publicly he requires, or she can be another one of the million podcasters opposing all of the interventions you mentioned. Guess what, the only ppl he listens to are his cabinet, ppl he gets millions of dollars from, or Fox News anchors. She can gently push him one direction. That's it. It's a shame ppl think that just b/c she's failed override the million of other pro war ppl around Trump, that she must be a con too. Like really? After all the years she's spoken about this stuff and turning down a cushy spot in the DNC, she's a failure b/c she alone can't get Trump to be a principled anti war president? Saying stuff like Tulsi is a failure and career politician is completely playing into the hands of the pro-war establishment.
Hoonin_Kyoma@reddit
It’s a catch 22 for her, or anyone in his administration. Speak up too much? You’re fired. Speak out publicly? Fired. He doesn’t allow dissent.
I’m not saying she did or has spoken out or that she still holds true to her principles that attracted many of us… I’m not there and just don’t know. What I am saying though is that if she wants to remain in a position to affect change, she is limited in how vocal she can be.
American_Streamer@reddit
So you basically think that Iran‘s nuclear ambitions and the Houthis endangering America‘s trade routes aren’t relevant issues?
Buckshot1@reddit
Iran doesn't pose a direct threat to America. Tulsi acknowledged this 4 years ago.
therin_88@reddit
My brother, they tried to assassinate our President.
Buckshot1@reddit
Where's the evidence
jefe4959@reddit
The Evidence is Netanyahu said so.
BergTheVoice@reddit
A quick google search is your friend.
Miserable-Bit5939@reddit (OP)
Oh great. Are there Houthis invading the U.S.? Do you really believe Iran is building a nuclear weapon? Netanyahu has said for decades that Iran is closer to a nuke, but it hasn’t happened. What kind of world do you live in?
American_Streamer@reddit
Iran and the Houthis are actively endangering American trade routes (via the Suez Canal) and the oil reserves in the middle east region.
emilio_lizardo_phd@reddit
The Houthis already agreed to not attack shipping. A deal that Iran helped broker in order to build momentum in the negotiations in the nuclear negotiations with the US.
Netanyahu dragged us into his war because he's trying to keep from going to prison and Trump went along with it
Shomondir@reddit
The Suez Canal is more in danger of captains beaching their ships, blocking the channel, than Houties or Iran doing things.
You may think of the Horn of Africa and the Straight of Hormuz, the first being next to Jemen, the other being next to Iran.
8072t34506@reddit
It turns out both things are dangerous. Just because your opinion is that one thing is more dangerous doesn't mean the other should be ignored.
therin_88@reddit
Cool story bro.
I love her more now.
