Need to build a new PC; how did I do?

I need to build a new PC this summer ahead of Win10's end of life. This is because my wife's using my old 4th Gen i7 with an 8GB AMD video card and I figure I can give her what I'm using now (an 8th Gen i7 my brother gave me without a video card; I put in a Radeon RX 6750 XT) and build myself something new. I think I've done well in giving myself bang (and longevity) for my buck but I thought I should get feedback on my parts list.
Note: If I build an image telling Win11 to ignore the CPU check and the 4th Gen will somehow run Win11, we're thinking we'll give my wife's entire PC to a friend of ours who she wants to game with and I'll build using this list. Otherwise— that is, assuming the 4th Gen can't handle Win11— I won't need to buy a video card or SSD because we'll just transplant our existing cards and drives into our respective new systems. In the latter case, that would drive my costs down to a little under $1,000 and I'd consider bumping up to 64 GB of RAM, but I could always just add another 32GB later instead.
All that said, here's the list. How did I do? Any suggestions on further optimizing it? Did I choose any bad parts? The last new PC I built myself was over 10 years ago, so I'm not exactly current on a lot of things. That's also one reason I opted for air cooling, never having installed a liquid cooling system before,

Changed a lot things that were outdated or not good. Motherboard changed to one that doesn't overheat, SSD changed to one that basically peforms the same but it's cheaper (ssd could be even cheaper but you would lose more peformance), GPU to a modern 9060xt (the one you had was from last generation), PSU to a less overkill model, the one you had was unnecessary expensive.

Case could also be cheaper but idk if you use it because u like the looks

I would add that unless OP needs the CPU for productivity workloads a much cheaper 7600 would do just fine for gaming allowing enough room in the budget to upgrade to something like a 9070.
Even_Clue4047@reddit
I'm assuming he put the 9900x for that reason
ManiacClown@reddit (OP)
It's mainly that I'm trying to get longevity, but I also figured the extra power would be nice. I take it the 9900x is way overkill?

For gaming right now there's no advantage but maybe in the future? Not sure games very rarely use 12 cores
ManiacClown@reddit (OP)
So would the 7600 last practically as long before having to build a new system as the 9900, or at least come out at a wash on the price vs. longevity?
Going back to what you said about the case, I keep my tower on a shelving unit and from shelf to shelf I have 21" of clearance. That and the lights are why I chose the one I did. Did you mean that case is overpriced as a whole or just that I could get a case as good in and of itself if I chose one without lights?
Even_Clue4047@reddit
It all depends on how much threads games use in the future, currently most use sub 12 very rarely some use 16. It's a maybe on that one, but I'd say you're better off getting an x3d for longevity
