Is it a tooth of a cetacean? If so, what species? Guy says it is an antique whale tooth, but I am no expert.

Tooth of a juvenile sperm whale - they straighten as the animal gets older. I have one very similar from a young male sperm whale that stranded here (held under licence in UK)

Probably a sperm whale. But if you are going to buy it make sure it comes with proper documentation as sperm whale teeth fall under the protected species act and its illegal to own.
