I always eat my canned food straightout of the can. Ravioli, chili, doesn't matter. Despite being room temperature, it tastes better because reasons.
Kiriyuma7801@reddit
Heating it up dilutes the the actual flavo imo.
Kiriyuma7801@reddit
I'm nearly 30 and I still eat these and ravioli straight outta the can cold.
Danny16420@reddit
Honestly use to love this as a snack when I was younger. Cold is the way to go
mike_stifle@reddit
Oh totally, then I revisited as an adult, gonna pass on doing that again.
amethyst_dep@reddit
They don't taste the same as they used to
mike_stifle@reddit
Possibly true but our tastes change physically and mentally as we age.
Granite_0681@reddit
My lactose intolerance self didn’t realize there was milk in the sauce until too late…
Plane-Tie6392@reddit
Same. I had so many cans of Spaghett-O’s in high school. We had like no time to buy food so just popping open a can saved a lot of time.
Tall_Bread_3139@reddit
Oh the days of single poverty… I kinda miss the feral aspect of it all.
electr1cbubba@reddit
They’re ok cold but microwaved with far too much cheese on top and a slice of toast? Get outta heeere

When I lived in college dorms, my parents helped me move in and hit Costco during my first day and surprised me by stocking up my dorm room with groceries. Long story to say they got me 3 giant assortments of chef boy ardee. I had like 60+ cans. I’d get in late so many nights, maybe a little tipsy, I’d crack a can and just go to town. My dorm neighbors were from there and started bringing me food from their parents house cause I was out of state, and they thought it was sad. Which was super nice. But I wasn’t sad eating my cold can. I was actually very happy and made me appreciate my parents.
Beefaroni was my jam

I’m a spaghetti and meatball guy
ecosynchronous@reddit
Yep, as I get older I find spaghetti and meatballs has a nice tang that spaghetti rings lacks.
JinterIsComing@reddit
The texture on spaghetti was also better than cold beefaroni or ravioli.
Bauerman51@reddit
I loved beefaroni growing up!
obeyn8@reddit
I've done the same with canned soup before like if your hungry enough you don't got time to wait and heat it up
ACatWalksIntoABar@reddit
Part of me almost prefers cold spaghetti is from the can
redclawotter@reddit
I love taking stuff like this camping. You can just throw the can over a fire or eat it cold. Mini raviolis are best

This is American right?
frenchkissmybutthole@reddit
I guess so. This is why I always say that being from Hawaii just feels like being from a different country sometimes because I’m disgusted.
Dounce1@reddit
I see you with your spam.
xamitlu@reddit
I'll only do this while camping or fishing.
logikal-1@reddit
Ngl SpaghettiO's bring me back to my childhood and I've been known to F these up on occasion.😁
Miasmata@reddit
Pasta rings? I've only heard them called spaghetti hoops lol
JohnFresh669@reddit

Mammoth-Trust1542@reddit

Climbing Kosciuszko Mountin, and eating cold tomato soup straight from the can washed down with fresh honey mead was a beautiful experience.

I mean, i’ve done, but I didn’t take photos.
Narrow-Koala1185@reddit
Straight from the can and an off brand.

Honestly, this post reads like a psychological case study in culinary nihilism. You’ve got all the signs zero concern for societal norms, high tolerance for suffering, and a firm grip on irony as identity. Eating cold canned pasta straight from the tin isn’t just a snack it’s a cry for help disguised as a lifestyle choice. Either you’re battling burnout, embracing post-ironic survivalism, or just really committed to being the anti foodie hero we didn’t ask for but absolutely deserve.

Background Information: Limited biographical data is available, but behavior indicates subject likely lives alone or has successfully driven off any potential roommates. May be operating under high stress, low motivation, or extreme convenience-based decision making. Possibility of economic frugality, apathy toward societal food norms, or mild masochistic tendencies.
⸻
Behavioral Observations: Subject demonstrates: • A lack of concern for social approval or judgment. • Signs of possible depressive anhedonia (inability to enjoy things, like warm food). • High adaptability and tolerance to suboptimal conditions (e.g., cold meatballs). • Potential avoidance of effortful tasks such as heating food or using a plate. • Unusual attachment to canned goods, possibly tied to nostalgia or survivalist ideology.
⸻
Mental Status Examination: • Appearance: Functional but not overly concerned with aesthetics. • Mood: Apathetic with ironic overtones. • Affect: Flat but punctuated by meme-worthy self-awareness. • Speech: Sparse, informal, intentionally deadpan (“easy go to snack”). • Thought Content: Likely cynical, humorous, possibly existential. • Insight/Judgment: Unclear; may fluctuate between “I don’t care” and “This is content.”
⸻
Personality Traits (inferred): • Openness: Moderate – embraces unconventional choices. • Conscientiousness: Low – food choices lack planning, effort, or sanitation. • Extraversion: Low – likely prefers solitude or niche internet communities. • Agreeableness: Moderate – post invites connection through humor. • Neuroticism: Possibly elevated – behavior may reflect coping with stress or indifference.
⸻
Diagnosis (Provisional, for comedic purposes only): • F98.9: Feeding behavior not otherwise specified (e.g., cold canned meatball addiction) • V62.89: Discord with modern society (e.g., refusal to microwave) • R46.89: Other symptoms and signs involving appearance and behavior (e.g., public posting of said behavior)
⸻
Treatment Recommendations: • Short-term: Encourage basic culinary hygiene (e.g., microwave use, plates). • Long-term: Explore underlying cause of culinary apathy in therapy or Discord voice chat. • Group Therapy: Reddit comments may offer needed peer reflection and shame resilience building.
⸻
Evaluator’s Note: While potentially troubling, subject’s behavior may represent a post-ironic embrace of authenticity and anti-aesthetic rebellion. Recommend watching for escalation to cold chili or condensed soup.

he was eating a cold tin of ravioli after a night out, he fell asleep with the tin in his hand, I woke up and he-man cartoons are on the tv.
