Is it stupid to consider a new vehicle or ride out with my current CVT Rogue?

I am looking for some input and have tried doing my own research but just keep finding a bunch of conflicting info. I just had to replace my CVT transmission after only having the car for 6 years (purchased brand new with 12 miles on it in 2019). While I absolutely love my Rogue i am considering looking around to trade in. i know it sounds silly after just paying the car off a year ago and putting money in for the transmission...but I just have that lingering what if the cvt goes out in another handful of years. Will I kick myself for not trading in while my car has some value to it still to upgrade to something better/more reliable? Will i kick myself more if i never had another transmission issue and i buy another car? Every mechanic I have spoken with advised to stear clear of them. I am always in my car and often travel states away on a whim. Idk, i don't want to be fobancially iresponsible and just jump into another car, but on the other hand...I know i constantly travel and have my young nieces and nephews in the car too. I had absolutely 0 warning when my transmission went up and I was on a busy highway. It hadn't been acting weird at all!
Just looking for some friendly opinions!

Ah, those good old Nissan CVT trannies. Would never buy one.

I'd say look into maintenance on CVT transmissions. I'm assuming you didn't do much upkeep with the CVT for it to die that quickly. Which is what most manufacturers tell you to do anyway.
For the new CVT, change the fluids often and you should be able to get away more life or if it. I have a traditional, but fragile, transmission in my car, and I've been draining and filling the fluid every 20k-30k miles.

Change the cvt fluid more often, and that may buy you some time.

I think the only trouble spot with that car is the tranny and I'm guessing you followed Nissan's recommendation that the fluid is good for the life of the car. It's not. Have it changed in 3 years and you probably won't have to replace the transmission again.

Supposed to drain and fill every 30k, Full replacement every 60k. Worked in 2 Nissan Service Departments 1,500 miles apart from one another for a little over a decade before leaving the industry.

I'm betting nobody does it?

It's funny you bring up Boulder, one of the dealerships I worked at was in Denver. You defiantly want to change it more often in the wider Denver area, the mountains are brutal on those pieces of junk.

Nobody who's transmission made it to 65k.

I had a sentra where the transmission went. I replaced it but I also learned that I need to change the fluid every 30-40K. From what I read if I do that ($100 every so often) then I have a higher chance of the transmission lasting longer.

At this point, you've already bitten the bullet on the new transmission. You could probably even replace it a second time and still come out ahead vs the cost getting something else/newer. I'd probably go ahead and keep it a couple more years at this point.
Out of curiosity, you were at 6 years and how many miles when your CVT went out? When had transmission fluid been changed in it? 2019 I think should have the revised Jatco CVT as it changed in like 2017 or 2018, so I'm just curious.

We have 9 years on ours and 80K+ miles. I'd guess you can get another 6 years. Drive it for four than start looking.

Just checked Nissan's site. New Rogue SV AWD is going for $30k with 0%/60mo finance. $540 payments for 5yrs. While replacing a transmission sucks, you should expect similar life from the new one as what you got from the old one. So another 6yrs. Not sure how much your new transmission cost, but I'm guessing around $6k.
Even if you replace a transmission every 3yrs, you're still money ahead to keep what you have and drive the wheels off it.
We have a '18 Rogue with 86k miles. Transmission is going to go soon. Wife doesn't notice, but it slips horribly right now. It's paid off, and I'll gladly pay $6k for a new transmission because the rest of the car EASILY has another 7yrs of life in it.

Sell it asap and buy a Highlander with twice the miles.

I considered a lot of small SUVs and settled on a 2022 Rav4 (bought new) because it had no turbo and no cvt. It's boring, I'm tired of it, but it has treated me so well (50k miles and only basic maintenance done) so I'm just keeping it forever.
