We're in a weird spot for that sort of thing. We have perfect camera tech and tools to figure out if something is photoshopped, so a lot of those grainy pictures of reptilian secret service agents went away. But at the same time people can't tell if a photo is AI or not.
Not that it's aliens but people were thinking the Trump failed assassination was "obviously," faked and there was that plane picture with Kamala that people thought was fake even though there were other pictures to prove the rally was real.
