When does sailing get comfortable?

I'm not a great sailor but I've had a couple of boats in the past few years. I've had a: * Catalina 25 * Sailing canoe * Foiling trimeran that seats one And in each situation, the ride has been thrilling and fun but never comfortable. Not like a catamaran Cruise in Hawaii or something. Where you're you're staring at blue seas with white sails billowing above you, like the guy posting videos of him near the equator or sailing with the dolphins Is my idea of a comfortable sail more of a romantic dream than anything else? Even if I do get a large sailing catamaran, are the beautiful sailing days a minority of the time? And the majority of the time you're checking rigging checking for barnacles, monitoring VHF, updating your log, servicing your diesel, dealing with immigration, etc? Don't get me wrong, I still love sailing and the feeling of skipping above the waves is second to none. But at no point has my sailing ever been remotely comfortable or bodily enjoyable. Is that enjoyment reserved for million dollar yachts and million dollar upkeep?
