At the beginning of the internet, most of the content was people hating on Wes. I remember, this one dude had a blog that was just a series of posts about dreams he had about Wesley. Weird stuff, like he spotted him walking down the street and ran outside screaming and all his neighbors came out and they recreated the Q trial with a John Deere tractor backing him up to pass judgement and then it got kind of gay. So… I’m just saying. I think he’s had enough
When I first got on usenet in the early 90s, I found the Star Trek ones.
There was alt.startrek, as you'd expect, for general discussion. There was alt.startrek.tos, alt.startrek.tng, and alt.startrek.ds9, for series specific discussion.
Then there was alt.startrek.wesleycrusher.die.die.die.
As far as I remember, no other characters had their own dedicated forum besides Wesley.
He reminded me of my older brother. My older brother had an odd memory. It could be considered photographic. If it was on a page or an image, he could recall every detail (even something as small as a bit of missing ink of a letter). However talk to him, explain something to him.... after about 5 minutes he couldn't remember it. He loved this character and claimed it shown he could be awesome. He didn't like when I pointed out his memory only worked for things written down and not from any other source.
I made a “Shut up, Wesley” quip on another Star Trek subreddit and got chewed out by a mod because it really hurts Will Wheaton’s feelings.
I appreciate everyone not taking it seriously here as they were only characters on a show.
But that naive kid sure makes a great punching bag!
He did create a species of nanites one episode so you gotta give him that. Though that is similar to what the Borg use… hmm…has Wesley ever appeared in the same episode as the Borg? Where was he when the Borg were rampaging towards Earth?
With how the Borg assimilated Picard they knew about Wesley and therefore only appeared when he wasn't around.
The last thing the collective needs is to either accidentally assimilate or get bested by the boy wonder who constantly manages to accomplish things, he as a inexperienced child, shouldn't be able to do.
I mean, to hear that thrown at you like a broken record everywhere you go, I'd start hating it, too. One line from one episode haunting him for the rest of his life. I sympathize with him.

What a fucker…

He was on the bridge for at least BoBW II. Riker orders a collision course, Wesley looks at him, does a hard swallow, and complies.
KitchenNazi@reddit
Oh that’s right! Haha. He’s just in the background at this point.

He probably would have had an inappropriate relationship with the Borg Queen.
