Fuel pump sounds like a housefly now

Been on the car for a couple of years, but the pump hasn't even run an hour. Took it for it's maiden voyage and the pump has turned into a housefly.

Possibly cavitation? Maybe an air leak on the suction side? Where is the pump?

I didn't think of this, and it sounds like cavitation. The pump is inline and mounted on the tank itself. It has run just fine with the car idling in the garage though. I went for a short drive in my neighborhood and it started doing this right after.

If it sat without running gaskets and orings can fail in a year or two. If it seems to be air getting into the system I would investigate seals on and near the pump. Good luck

Might still be providing enough fuel volume to run fine.

Probably. It'll be an under powered K20 with a massive pump.

Still not gonna be good for your fuel map. Injectors are seeing air....probably not bad enough to lean it out but at higher rpm/load? maybe 🤷

I'm fixing it either way.
