This isn’t actually that bad of a technical, it’s a great way to move large amounts of firepower around

The only problem is that it’s a huge gun to be swinging around by hand without traversing gears. You’d need arms like The Hulk to get any reasonable rotation speed, and the gunner would get exhausted quickly.

Are they using this against APC, Trucks etc.?
Trollbomber0@reddit
Most likely against Shashed drones

Do what you want but you will never beat the Vulcan brrrrt techie

Normally mounted on aircraft? So it normally has a lot of airflow for cooling.
I wonder what the practical rate of fire actually is?
PissedOffPuffins@reddit
Suppose it depends on usage really. If it’s an AT weapon then it’s probably only a few rounds per minute rather than whatever it was when mounted on aircraft. I’d wager around 10-20 rounds per minute or so.

I have seen Ukraine use random weapons and AA guns in an indirect saturation fire role.
usually a ZU-23-2 or something like it mounted to a truck and tasked with yeeting 23mm salutations in yonder direction before rolling away.
In terms of effectiveness it’s probably not landing a ton of hits, but it probably makes the troops in the treeline they are randomly firing at keep their head down for a bit.

This type of weapon generally will be delegated to eliminating light armor, troops, and clearing fortifications/treelines/holdouts. Seeing as it's 30mm and from a plane, and we have the gun listed, it's 850-1000rpm. It'll probably be used in shorts bursts, and I'd guess roughly 100-300rpm in sustained fire. Depending on the truck mount, ammo availability, and how they decide to modify the fire rate to fit mission priority, it could vary wildly if they even decide to change it.
