Iran enriched enough uranium to make 9 nuclear bombs to a level of 60%. 3% is all that is needed for nuclear power. 90% is needed for nuclear bombs. Iran was well on it's way to making nuclear bombs.
Not sure I would call this a “war” on the level of Iraq or Syria (both of which we still have troops on the ground). Not even close. But yeah, it’s worth wondering about. Apparently, Gabbard is fully on board with the bombing of the nuclear sites, so there must be something we don’t know that she does.
Um…no. That’s not an accurate representation of what she said. Although they were not building an actual nuclear weapon by March (and no one ever said they have), Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said their “enriched uranium stockpile is at its highest levels and is unprecedented for a state without nuclear weapons.” She also warned that the nation’s “nuclear weapons advocates within Iran’s decision-making apparatus” were “emboldened.”
This aligns with the assessment of the IAEA, which led to the Iran-USA negotiations and the eventual bombing of Iran’s main 3 nuclear enrichment facilities.
Basically, she was warning about this same thing months ago. She even says so herself. On June 17, 2025, Gabbard told Sarah Ferris of CNN the following:
“President Trump is saying the same thing that I said in my annual threat assessment back in March. Unfortunately too many people in the media don't care to actually read what I said”
I have copied and pasted below what she actually said.
This was on March 26, 2025, as Gabbard delivered opening remarks at a House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence hearing for the Annual Threat Assessment of the U.S. Intelligence Community. The complete opening statement includes this information about Iran:
“Iran continues to seek to expand its influence in the Middle East, despite the degradation to its proxies and defenses during the Gaza conflict. Iran has developed and maintains ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and UAVs, including systems capable of striking U.S. targets and allies in the region. They’ve shown a willingness to use these weapons, including during a 2020 attack on US forces in Iraq and in attacks against Israel in April and October 2024. Iran’s cyber operations and capabilities also present a serious threat to U.S. networks and data. The IC continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon and Supreme leader Khomeini has not authorized the nuclear weapons program that he suspended in 2003. We continue to monitor closely if Tehran decides to reauthorize its nuclear weapons program. In the past year, we’ve seen an erosion of a decades long taboo in Iran on discussing nuclear weapons in public likely emboldening nuclear weapons advocates within Iran’s decision-making apparatus. Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile is at its highest levels and is unprecedented for a state without nuclear weapons. Iran will likely continue efforts to counter Israel and press for U.S. military withdrawal from the region by aiding, arming, and helping to reconstitute its loose consortium of like-minded terrorists, actors, which it refers to as its “Axis of Resistance.” Although weakened, this collection of actors still presents a wide range of threats including to Israel’s population, U.S. forces deployed in Iraq and Syria, as well as U.S. and international military and commercial shipping and transit.”
Probably because of the spys they had watching & reporting what was happening from the inside, like they did. Iran was weeks away from high grade nuke bomb making grade.
Photos of her in the situation room. Also her most recent tweet is:
"Only President Trump could have achieved this historic ceasefire agreement that brings us closer to peace. It was a herculean effort that deserves the thanks of all the people of Israel, Iran, Middle East, America—the entire world. Congratulations and thank you, Donald Trump."
And I like how people downvoted me, but I turned out to be right lol - this one-night bombing run was not even close to our decades-long war in Iraq.
Iran did announce there was a ceasefire in the works. Both Trump and Qatar announced that they helped broker the deal. As usually done in middle east ceasefires, one party was supposed to stop firing for 12 hours, and after that the other party was supposed to. It was Iran who was supposed to stop first. Both parties broke the deal quickly. These aren't easy deals. It'll likely happen eventually.
Playing devil’s advocate, but what if this makes Trump seem so belligerent & unpredictable that he could get North Korea to surrender their nukes? He seems to change his mind on a whim. Threaten similar treatment, and begin negotiations for de-nuclearization. Of course, the same Trump that pulled out from New START would never truly be concerned with arms reduction.
P.S. - No Iranian nukes means no reason for the Israeli govt to hold onto theirs, right ;)
Who would ever trust him again in negotiations? He ripped up the Iran deal, Lied about peace talks so Isreal could strike Iran, then said he was going to give it two weeks to cover for the US airstikes.
If anything, they are probably happier than ever they do have nuclear capabilities
I agree with you 100%. It’s possible North Korea doesn’t view nuclear saber rattling anymore, though. Trying to find the bright side in a bad situation!

Just like polls show 80% of Americans are against men in women's bathrooms, polls also show 80% of Americans are against Iran getting nuclear weapons.

I agree. She now has access to top secret intelligence. I still trust her judgement. Here's an upvote.

There has not been a war between the US and Iran. The US was obligated to eliminate a threat. Besides, there's a peaceful deal in the works.
