It's so insane that this event is still going and that more people don't die here. Last year I happened to be in the area the day after the event and got to drive my rental car up to the peak while all of the event railing and signs were still up. In person this place is something truly special, I was in aw all the way up. And even the slowest person brave enough to haul ass up the mountain in this event has balls of steel. Absolutely insane hillclimb.

I got altitude sickness just casually perusing the gift shop at the summit.
I can't imagine hustling a fast car up that hill.

Yeah, I saw quite a few people really feeling the altitude, it's no joke!
Incredible video, I'd never seen that before. Thanks for sharing!

I got to drive my C8 up the mountain during a 6500 mile roadtrip. Definitely one of the top stops.

One of the coolest experiences I've had. I misjudged the altitude's effect on weather so I was pretty cold for the morning, but being at the tree line and seeing cars flying by was amazing.

Too bad they cant' run the full course. Dahm really wanted to set that rotary record and won't get a shot till next year.
