Hey, so I want to build rx 9060 xt (16 gb of vram) and r5 7600 pc. The problem is I dont know if I should go with 1080p or 1440p. Which one should I choose?

What games u planning on playing? I got a 34" oled 175hz screen playing 1440p and it is smooth.

Mostly cs2 and sniper elite.

Well i enjoy cs on my 34" but 1080p 24-27" is recommended for cs.

Yeah, I was thinking abt Gigabyte G25F2 or Gigabyte GS27QA

If you are worried about the price, Acer has the Nitro 27', its 1440p 180hz 0.5ms response time for $180. Ive been using it for the last 6 months and it looks great, the only issue I had was a dead pixel on arrival but returned it and my replacement is fine.

These cheaper 1440p monitors often come with dead pixels, saw people complaining abt it all the time. Btw what type of panel does this acer monitor have (what i mean is ips, va, tn)?
Ill-Discipline1113@reddit
its an ips panel

Yeah, I think Ill buy it.

To test the pixels when it arrives you can just plug the power cable in with no display cable and its a black screen so its really easy to see if you have a dead pixel.

Edit: I also dont recommend using hdr even though it supports it, it has some odd artifacting. You get a much better image if you tune it to your liking. You can pm me once you get it if you would like my settings for it.

why would 1080p be recommended for cs? you should be able to get a consistent 200+fps on 1440p med/high settings in cs with a 9060xt. I run low/med 1440p with a 6650xt and get around 180fps.

Usually you play 1280x960 res as a pro.
Ill-Discipline1113@reddit
That was like 5 years ago lol, if you go look at the pro scene now they are all using benq 1080p monitors at 360hz. Refresh rate and resolution arent going to make you a better player anyways.
Boring-Fix8573@reddit (OP)
It wont make you better, I agree. But it indeed makes gaming easier.
Ill-Discipline1113@reddit
I agree that gaming can feel easier with high refresh rate but after 180hz the difference is almost negligible. I had a 280hz 1080p panel before my current one and having much better picture clarity is way better than the extra refresh rate. 1080p is really blurry once you get used to 1440p and it gives off a window screen effect because you can notice every pixel once you switch.

Pros play it bc it makes enemies "wider". BUT bc of it you see less on sides of monitor. Thats why I play in 16:9

1440p for sure. LG 27 inch Ultragear is nice.
