How to know when it's time to go?

I don’t have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. When you hate your job, no matter how much you try to put up with it, there comes a point where you’re mad as hell and you’re just not going to take it anymore. So, maybe this is the right moment to reflect: is it time to go?
Making the decision to leave a job is never easy. And it’s a pretty drastic step, especially if you don’t yet have another job to go to. But sometimes it has to be done. Let’s look at some signs that might indicate it’s time to say the words “I” and “quit” in conjunction together.

If you think this shouldn't apply to you, get approval from moderators first.

If you don't feel better and more energized at work after a nice holiday
apnorton@reddit
Wait, do people ever feel better and more energized when returning to work after a holiday?
(Genuine question --- I've always felt less motivated to work after a vacation at every company I've ever worked at.)
rogorak@reddit
I used to, for about 6 hours. Then work erased my holiday 😆 and I'd deal with approval additional stress for not being around

When you feel your brain is rotting. (Too Much Comfort, or No Comfort)
When you feel your efforts are ignored and you aren't feeling like you belong. (Alienation or Growth)
When your mental condition is screwed.
When you can't give time to your life's responsibilities.
just a few to note..

The second point is on purpose because they are cowards who really are there not on merits but on political bs
It’s funny how people who lacks complete understanding of how things actually work can come and start giving lectures on what’s wrong or right bypassing years of work and understanding of things that are not easy to explain
It’s a culture that ends up rewarding “you’re on my side/alligned” instead of “you know what you’re doing” promotional wise
I have been there many years ago and the company died to just start making money for the investors but putting a date of closure to the company and all jobs there died with it

In today’s world, I disagree with leaving your job being a drastic step. It’s way less dramatic than a lot of people have internalized it to be

Genuinely thought initially that this article was about it's time to learn Golang.

I feel like even if you’re a good engineer that can succeed at other companies, YOE can hold you back from even getting interviews in this market. The difference between 3 and 5 years is massive even if you have the skills needed in the JD at year 3.

It's time to go golang!
Shehzman@reddit
This might be a hot take but I feel golang will be the enterprise language going forward for greenfield projects.

Not discounting or disagreeing with anything that anyone said, but just want to remind people that the job market is tough right now. If you want to leave, it's a good idea to secure another position first.
