Anyone else try Liri Desktop recently?

I've had the desktop's repository installed on my Arch laptop for maybe a year (back when it was HawaiiOS with the Maui Desktop) and I have to say: for something that's still beta, it's a pretty smooth desktop. With touch support (my laptop's a 2-in-1) and the rest of the settings implemented, I can definitely see this being one of my "daily" drivers (I keep 3-4 desktops and switch in between them whenever I get tired of one)

I wanted to try it and started the build process on arch. Then when it tried to download a 400MB package called 'qt-doc' I interrupted it (obviously documentation that nobody asked for and that I was never gonna read and it will just sit on my disk and take up 400mb for nothing).
On their site, it says "Download Nightly Alpha | 1.2 GB".
I don't understand how this can be a "minimalistic desktop".
Also judging on other comments it has been in Alpha for 7 years now maybe more.
And I suspect that it's developed by a single person which I don't think would be effective for such a large project.

Wow. Back when I made this post (~7 years ago), it had an Arch custom repo. That's a shame that it hasn't gone out of Alpha yet. (I've moved on to tiling WMs)
