We’re staying at an Airbnb with a hot-tub but they charge 250$ to use it. Obviously I wanna use it for free lol

I have AirBnB so here: AirBnB prohibits all indoor camera and outdoor camera in areas with reasonable privacy requirement. It is also host's fault to use camera to detect hot tub usage. The proper way for host is energy monitoring or cover with seals.
You currently technically have the power to call AirBnB to cancel your stay with a full refund. Or, you can go ahead and use the hot tub without paying. When the host come back to you to ask you for payment, ask them for proof. If they send you security camera footage they literally shot themselves on their foot.

Its not clear that it would be disallowed if the hotdog is ourside. They mention showers and saunas, but not hot tubs, and it would be disclosed in this case.

Unplug the router before you get in and plug it back in the next morning or whenever. Then ask for a partial refund because you needed to work and the internet was down.

They might get caught when they check the footage and the owners see them unplugging the router.

spiderman web blasters should do the trick
wa019@reddit
A bit absurd but it theoretically would work, although the owners will ask why is there white goo on the cameras

Disconnect the mains from the electrical panel, unplug accordingly, turn on the mains again.

That’s what I thought too. Seriously? Recording a hot tub? My guess is that maybe they have a separate room for the hot tub and they have cameras pointing at the door.

FYI, many of those security cams have internal batteries. So they will still capture and record movements on SD cards and upload after the internet connection is reestablished.

No way they charge $250 to use a hot tub

Actually, if they go the route of once a new person uses it we need to pay someone to drain, scrub, refill and balance the PH then yeah it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Brother in law ran an Airbnb in LA and had to do this. With increased energy use, expensive in CA, and the service call between guests, the hot tub was a major source of expense and hassle.
He mostly did multi-week hosting to reduce the effort

At an AirBnB that I rented in Orlando a couple years ago they wanted $50 a day to heat the pool in November.

Remove your payment option from Airbnb?

Wifi jammer.

Is the hot tub indoors or outdoors? If indoors it might be illegal to have a camera in that tub/bathroom area. Check local and state laws as regulations.
