Well come on, dont honey pot us, what was you doing? What was the pay? I mean more power too you, I'm local and there is not enough money is this world that could convince me to go OTR. $100k+ a year, sleeping in my own bed, seeing my wife and kid daily, pooping with the home field advantage....or give it all up for pennies over the road? Yeah I'm good lol.

I’m local and just got my CDL and I quit OTR due to very low pay . I get paid $23/hr and don’t even drive as much . I just ride the truck and help unloading and loading the truck . I go home daily , and I have 3 day weekly break . Why would I choose OTR where you work actually for 70 hrs a week and get paid $700/week?

Yep thats the hidden truth. Local pay sucks unless you want to be worked like a slave by hand unloading trucks nah I'm good. I'll stay regional or OTR.

If all you want to do is bump docks and sit in the truck or in the receiving room you should look for a local job that does just that… or get the exercise from unloading and loading.

You can’t really group EVERY local job like that, the same way you can’t group every OTR job together. There and easy and hard jobs everywhere, you just have to find what works for you. For me, I wouldn’t be able to get over all of the unpaid waiting and downtime in the truck that usually comes with going OTR. Local has always paid me very well and given plenty of time at home on days off and in between shifts when needed.
