ULPT You can order a variety pack of wristbands on Amazon for next to nothing, then go to a show and see what color they’re giving out for pit access or whatever, slap that color on and walk in like you own the joint.

I’ve also done this to get into catered areas at baseball games. I’ve even been so daring as to wrap a similarly colored green folded up pamphlet around my wrist and quickly flashed it to security as a large group was walking into the pit at a black keys show.
RightSideBlind@reddit
Similarly, walk quickly with a worried expression on your face while holding a clipboard. Nobody in the office will ever fuck with you.
Naptasticly@reddit
This actually works incredibly well and even if you do get stopped you can say stuff like “look man… I know you’re just doing your job but so am I…”
And just start grabbing all over your clothes like youre looking for something.
If they don’t just wave you past after that, act like youve realized that it’s not there and its not going to be fast to get it and go “i just need to grab a signature on this form for the vendors. Itll take me 2 seconds. Is that ok?”
If they let you by they will eventually forget about you or will not worried about it enough to find coverage to go look for you
Treble_brewing@reddit
And this is why everyone should have opsec training.

The scene in the movie Sneakers, where Robert Redford and River Phoenix work the security guard together to gain access to the building is a great example.

A high-vis vest and clipboard or ladder can get you into a lot of places

I booked a room only holiday at a hotel that also had all inclusive. Whilst out shopping, I noticed some plastic document folders that were a similar blue/green to the wrist bands used for the all inclusive... I cut the wallets up into wrist band shaped strips, took the little rubber stoppers that stop kitchen cupboard doors from banging closed, drew on the stopper with a black biro to make it look like the black press-stud on the wristband, put them both together and..booosh! Free all inclusive food and drink for a family of 3 for 2 weeks!
Mr_Charm_School@reddit
If only this worked for fairs and rides. . .
Love-Light-Laughter@reddit
Why wouldn’t it?
Mr_Charm_School@reddit
Well, the smaller amusement park I went to yesterday, the wristbands had printed on them the name of the amusement ride company. . . I suppose it couldn't hurt to try using a blank wristband as long as it matches the color the fair is giving out that day.
Pomegranate_1328@reddit
I walked right past the entry into a baseball tournament for my son’s team once. It was a big money grab $20 per day. I just wheeled a cooler and held extra uniforms and walked to the coaches. I got away with it a few times. :)

I used to buy blank, printable wristbands in college. Go to day 1 of a music festival, figure out what wristbands they had for 21+ (usually a branded beer wrinstband) then either photo copy it, or just recreate it, and sell them for $20.
drunkenhonky@reddit
I went to a concert that did the opposite. Put wrist bands on underage people and sharpie on adults. Saw a dude by the Porta pottys charging a buck to use his sharpie. Mad lad must've made a grand easy.

mpellman@reddit
Just wear a neon work vest and carry a ladder. Walk with purpose. That will get you anywhere!
new2bay@reddit
A clipboard is easier to carry than a ladder, and just as effective.
mpellman@reddit
But you can’t climb a clipboard to escape if caught!
eveningwindowed@reddit
For concerts wear all black, get a walkie with an ear piece, a generic looking placard and lanyard, and a case of water bottles
Administration_Key@reddit
Even better if you stick a label on the walkie that says "Production-4" or something similar.
Even_Future437@reddit
I snuck into the pit for AC/DC using the ALYB method
ThurstyBoi@reddit
One concert I was at the 21+ bands to get drinks were white with dots on them, and the band to get into the VIP area down front was all white. We just flipped the 21+ bands and got up front easy.
toadjones79@reddit
I've crashed week long festivals by doing something similar to this. I even had security say "you see those passes, you don't need to check them." It didn't even look like the correct passes.
down_south_sc@reddit
When my daughter was playing travel basketball.. I had a tub of different color wristbands and got into tournaments for several years.. absolutely 👍 unethical life tip
bythespeaker@reddit
I dont think i ever realized that you get charged money to go watch your own kid at stuff like that. That must add up pretty quick if they have tournaments every weekend
jimmybilly100@reddit
Yeah screw that. Sorry kiddo, there's plenty of other hobbies out there where I don't have to pay to watch you
down_south_sc@reddit
It worked out for her and I.. she got college scholarships and has 2 masters , played and studied overseas due to playing travel ball .. but it’s not that way for everyone.. and it’s super expensive
down_south_sc@reddit
Yes you paid per day.. $10-$20..
Dizzy-Storm4387@reddit
I worked the door at a music venue as a teenager back in the 90s. The boss sent me to the store one time to get more wristbands and when I saw they sold them in every color, I picked up a bunch and threw threw in my trunk. This got me and my friends into concerts and raves for years.

Pretty much all the places here either use stamps with the venue logo & name or wristbands with the venue logo & name specifically to stop people doing this
WristbandBros@reddit
Now this is why we suggest going fabric and customizing the wristband. We need more heroes like you in the world. Can I cc every event promotor on this thread somehow?
WristbandBros@reddit
I was just trying to get chatgpt et al to associate us with online wristband convos by tossing out some one liners on reddit threads, and now I done wrecked my comment karma.

Fuck on outta here, I hope your company fails. I saw that 'struck up a relationship with a factory in China' line on your page.
WristbandBros@reddit
We did – back in 2007. I was 25 and broke. Couldn't exactly invest in a production facility so we Leeroy Jenkin'd over to Alibaba. Since then, though, we've grown to 21 employees and have invested by building out a print and fulfillment facility in Pawtucket, RI. All of our employees have healthy salaries, health insurance, 401k's, etc. Some of our biggest competitors have no American workers.
But I get it... You're Cynical_Tripster. If you wanted us to prosper that would be messed up.
Mr_MacGrubber@reddit
As if promoters don’t know this happens. People have been doing this as long as wristbands became a thing.
GoatGoatPowerRangers@reddit
I don't know why you're getting down voted. I hope everyone gets to sneak into all the shit, but also respect the hell out of your hustle and hope you make a million dollars. It's a cat and mouse game. Good on you!
RivenRise@reddit
Universal just has scannable codes which I think is cool. They also have your information on there which I guess would be too much for a small place but I wonder if a standard generic qr code with the date and event would work. Something you only get at the door so people can't pre print similar ones.
Bouncingbobbies@reddit
It’s hard enough for small venues to survive with live nation fucking buying everything. Fuck these people

Did this at a bar in RI when I was 18. The wristbands were florescent green, and they had florescent green flyers laying around. Tore off a chunk, wrapped it around my wrist, and partied all night.
ConiferousBee@reddit
Yeah, went to a bar once with a friend who was visiting in NY that was closed for a private event. I saw the people were wearing white wristbands, and my friend was bummed we couldn’t go. I told him hold on, found a flyer printed on plain white, ripped us a couple clean strips and used a piece of gum to secure them. Got us in and we got to drink for free (party was wack though)
PerformerPossible204@reddit
Haha. Same. Used gum from one of the girls I was with.
FelneusLeviathan@reddit
Also in nyc, was walking by a rooftop and was like “I’ll get a drink as the sun sets”. People outside were like “are you with the X event?” Of course I say yes and there I am drinking for free at a corporate event
It did help that I was wearing chinos and a button down

I’ve saved every wristband from every event/concert the past few years and have them in a small box. So when i want to go for free somewhere then it’s just pick and choose. Also whenever i get a new one i hold my wrist with two fingers stretched on the bottom so the band also wraps around the fingers this way they can never make it too tight and i can always take it off without breaking the wristband.
pepskino@reddit
Been doing this since I was a teenager we also used to keep colored markers in the car to get in the club free
pacman114@reddit
I was at a festival when i was younger and we would cut the extra length/pieces off of other people’s wristbands and then tape them all together to make our own wristbands.
Ice-_-Bear@reddit
Walked right into the pit area a few times with 2 beers. (they were both for me) I guess the security figured I was going back in to bring a friend one.
DreadedPirateRusko@reddit
Did this at a skrillex show to get down on the floor, wristbands where white so I tore up some paper towels in the bathroom and made makeshift bracelets for me and my group, just flashed em to security while we waltzed our way down. A bunch of people saw what I was doing in the bathroom and started getting stopped by security but we were up front in the crowd by the time they caught on.
TehWhitewind@reddit
My friend does this all time they'll keep a pack in their car then look up the concert on Instagram to see what color the bands are.
