Planning on buying an HK

Planning on picking up a new rifle or a new pcc. Knowing that my budget is about 3K what would be the best choice between an mr223 11" and the SP5 (two completely different firearms Ik). I can’t seem to make up my mind. Which one should I get and why is it the SP5.

Coming from a die hard HK and 416 fan/collector, if you want a top tier AR platform get a KAC SR-15/SR-16/SR30. If you’re going HK, get an SP5/SP5K

While the 416 platform is very neat and nostalgic, in my opinion it’s not king like everyone says. Your rail has to come off to deep clean piston system, and it’s heavier and has more perceived recoil than DI. Also, the current US market MR556 does not have a chrome lined barrel which is pretty much standard for a rifle of that price.

Also with a DI gun, it is shooting carbon back into the bolt carrier which is a dry lubricant itself. The system was designed that way so it can run even when not well lubed.

Knights improved DI gas system, with straight gas tube and rounded lug dual ejector bolt really is hard to beat. That paired with their vented sandcutter carrier and CRS PRT can, leads to very little gas in the face.

If you’re going for nostalgia/cloning purposes I can completely understand choosing a 416, but if you want unmatched performance I would go with a KAC.

My SR-15 with PRT is significantly gassier to the face than my MRA4 with an AEM5. Which is WILD to me. Even crazier is the MRA4 is more accurate and way softer shooting with the new adjustable gas system. Knights being top tier is a thing of the past imo. If you’re going to go with DI the Geissle with phased array is a way better performer and socom agrees. Kac is being dropped or DQed left and right while G$ dominates.

I have then MRA4 and G$, they are great and just as good. I just like the feel of the KAC more is all

You’re free to like whatever you want but KAC cheating and paying other people off during the MRGG trials because they’re performing so much worse than everybody else makes them completely uninteresting and absolutely not top tier. They legitimately tried paying people off and successfully did with black hills munitions which led to black hills losing their contracts and KAC from being disqualified for the MRGG program. They accuse Geissele of cheating regularly on their performance meanwhile they’re actually the cheaters
