Why do we think we can stop Iran becoming Nuclear?

Listening to lots of politicians here and abroad saying this cannot be allowed? I'm not gonna get into the whole political Iran/Isreal situation but I've thought this for years... How can we dictate who is allowed and who is not. Team America- World Police. They have the right just like we do to have nuclear weapons. *Im not saying it's a good thing* But who do we think we are to dictate.
