The best advice I ever got was “don’t go to bed mad…fix it”
It doesn’t always work but in hind sight it always looks like an attempt.

Going to be mad is fine. My wife and I wake up with clearer heads in the morning and realize we were both being stubborn asses.

Exactly. I hate the advice of not going to bed mad. So you’re not allowed to rest until you reconcile? It’s such bad advice.

I had nights like that with an ex of mine that I almost married. She believed in this “proverb”. So we had many nights where we had to stay up until things were resolved. It was awful and just ended up with someone giving in(ME) just so we (I) could go to sleep.

That’s awful.

It really was and thankfully there were other red flags. I believe I dodged a bullet.

That saying is the worst advice ever. 90% of the time, we wake up realizing it was never a thing worth fighting about.

I always thought it was good advice, I just listened to it my way. Going to sleep angry makes my sleep suck, so I do some light calming exercises to bring my agitation down. Oh, I feel no need to gash everything out before bed, and I’m still angry at the thing, but I’m not dealing with physical manifestations of anger. I can deal with you and it tomorrow though.

Last night we went to bed not talking 'Cause we'd already said too much I faced the wall, you faced the window Bound and determined not to touch We've been married seven years now Some days it feels like 21 I'm still mad at you this morning Coffee's ready if you want some I've been up since five, thinkin' 'bout me and you And I've got to tell you the conclusion I've come to I'll never leave, I'll never stray My love for you will never change But I ain't ready to make up We'll get around to that I think I'm right, I think you're wrong I'll probably give in before long Please, don't make me smile I just wanna be mad for a while For now, you might as well forget it Don't run your fingers through my hair Yeah, that's right, I'm being stubborn No, I don't wanna go back upstairs I'm gonna leave for work without a goodbye kiss But as I'm drivin' off, just remember this I'll never leave, I'll never stray My love for you will never change But I ain't ready to make up We'll get around to that I think I'm right, I think you're wrong I'll probably give in before long Please, don't make me smile I just wanna be mad for a while

You can go to bed mad, as long as you're still going together.

This made me chuckle. I’ve been mad at my husband, but it never lasts long.

If her response wasn't "I know" does she really love you?

I just assume she's mad until she does/says something that I associate with 'happy her'

Don’t marry a woman who answers your honest question with passive-aggressive falsehoods And then posts about it as a flex
