What happened to Hammonds workshop?

Not the show. I know that was canceled. I'm talking about the business itself. On the show it looked like he was making poor financial choices and the father son duo were getting fed up. Was that just for dramatic effect or was that real? Because we haven't seen it on drive tribe for a while.
Lickma-Nutz808@reddit
Firstly the shows not cancelled, season 5 comes out in October. Secondly, quick google search it seems Neil and Anthony have stepped down and left - guess we’ll find out soon
Milospesh@reddit
https://www.smallestcog.com/about if they stepped down why are they still on the about page ?
ozziephotog@reddit
Neil is no longer listed on the about page.
Milospesh@reddit
fair enough
Touliloupo@reddit
Because they didn't 🙂
Milospesh@reddit
exactly
kaijumoviefan@reddit
Andrew. Anthony is still there. So is Neil.
Ksanti@reddit
Neil isn't - he's on Instagram posting plenty of work from his own garage and confirmed in the comments that he's left
Milospesh@reddit
you're blind, there is a mix of cog pics and a few from another garage. and no comments suggesting or hinting about him leaving.
Ksanti@reddit
"I didn't see it therefore you are blind"
Proud_Contract_5097@reddit
No evidence that he's left with that. You ought to be careful if you're going around the internet making your own assumptions and passing them off as fact based on nothing.
Milospesh@reddit
That's pretty thin evidence bud.
Seems more like a joke.
GuidoBenzo@reddit
I just went on his instagram and he has posted a photo, ten hours ago, in front of a flag of the smallest cog.
Ksanti@reddit
That's not recent he's posting plenty of old photos at the moment
Harre57@reddit
At some point as a business they have to make money, they can't bleed Hammonds money for eternity.
Lickma-Nutz808@reddit
Who said they were? I must of missed that
yourethegoodthings@reddit
Nicola, his business manager..
LancelLannister_AMA@reddit
epic fail
Lickma-Nutz808@reddit
Do you mean Kamla the accountant? There isn’t a Nicola and the general business manager is Jamie? And also when did she say Neil and Anthony were bleeding Hammonds money? Genuinely missed it
yourethegoodthings@reddit
Yeah Kamla is who I meant, memory ain't shit these days.
She didn't say they were the reason it's bleeding money, but it is Hammond's money that's being used so I guess in my mind I didn't think the reason mattered.
Lickma-Nutz808@reddit
Ohh yeah all good bro, mine neither as I thought he was saying Neil and Anthony were bleeding him dry 😂 I get it now, long day
Alevy20@reddit (OP)
Oh really I haven't heard anything about season 5. Good to know.
Lickma-Nutz808@reddit
Yeah it is, I really enjoy it! Remember seeing something late April time (around my bday) about Hammond being on set for S5 and it being the first time he’s been seen without a wedding ring - but I’m also a uk medical broccoli patient and could of been on the moon and imagined this 😂 but s5 is defo green lit
Alevy20@reddit (OP)
Another thing I'm curious about was the whole financial struggle thing. Was that just for the camera or was hammond actually making bad business decisions like taking on more work then he should or buying unnecessary things like we see in the show.
PRSArchon@reddit
The company was definitely bleeding money for real, but Hammond could afford to do so for decades so its also for dramatic effect.
Lickma-Nutz808@reddit
Im not a 100% sure, but I do believe he was genuinely struggling. Due to prioritising jobs and things that would make good tv, rather than good business decisions- but again, who knows really when it comes to TV 😂🤷🏻♂️
Jarro@reddit
Cogs website still lists them as working there.
draco0562@reddit
I checked the facebook and they were in the post with Jeremy Clarkson being at the shop. Where did you see they left?
Lickma-Nutz808@reddit
On Google, around the end of last year… but bare in mind this season Clarksons farm is last years footage
nikhkin@reddit
It hasn't been cancelled.
It doesn't actually need to make money. It's an expensive hobby of a very rich man who lives in a "castle". It making a profit would be nice, though.
They're getting paid either way. There will definitely be disagreements, but a lot of the "drama" is just there for TV. That's why every series has a car that has to be finished in 2 weeks but it's 6 week's worth of work!
Both of them are still listed as employees on the website and a month ago he was talking about expanding the business.
Lady-Seashell-Bikini@reddit
He doesn't live in that castle anymore.
PsiCzar@reddit
he's probably sleeping in the office at The Smallest Cog now since his wife kicked him out.
I've never really cared for her, he's always happy and full of energy and she is always Debbie Downer, not just in this show, but in everything where i've heard her speak.
LloydChristmas_PDX@reddit
She had to raise his kids while he was working constantly so yeah
PsiCzar@reddit
Yeah, of course that would make life more difficult for her, but they arent middle class, with the money he's earned over the years she would'nt have been juggling 2 kids, a job, and worrying about making ends meet, so I dont feel too sorry for her.
agentspanda@reddit
I try not to count other people’s money but I don’t think most people get married and expect their spouse to fuck off half the year for two decades no matter how much money they’re making.
Just putting myself in her shoes I find it hard to imagine me just waving goodbye to my wife while she goes on her somewhat dangerous job while I cash the checks and run the house and raise the kids. You kinda enter into that thing with your partner because you want to do it together. Then 20 years later after I figure out how to live without her around much she just shows up like “hey I’m gonna be back here a lot more now”. It wouldn’t take very long to get sick of that if you ask me. Some people stick it out and figure it out, some folks don’t and think life is short.
Flimsy_Profession_66@reddit
Plus the accidents knocked his brain about, so I don't think he is all rainbows like he is on camera and didn't mentioned about depression and memory loss etc. That can be very heavy lifting and more so when they are about more.
PsiCzar@reddit
Good points, and that's possibly why the marriage failed, he wasn't around enough before for him to grate on her, and now that he is, he does.
Flimsy_Profession_66@reddit
Have you seen all the prize horses she has. Think she was away as much on horse stuff as he was working.
Harre57@reddit
I felt sorry for hammond watching the show to be honest, his family seemed to treat him just as a source of money.
PRSArchon@reddit
The ex wife yes, he seems to be very close with at least one of his daughters.
Proud_Contract_5097@reddit
Yeah, Izzy's a Daddy's girl, the other's a Mummy's girl, but even Izzy still uses him as her personal bank account even though she's like 24.
Flimsy_Profession_66@reddit
Yep, she is a complete Nepo baby Izzy. If her dad wasn't famous. She would be admin temp for sure. Had the presenting skills of chipboard too
DeeplyProfound_@reddit
What a shame. Being a parent to your kids whilst your partner provides everything you'll need to look after them.
I can't blame her for the divorce. I also would hate being there for my children whilst someone else provides for us
ginginh0@reddit
So yeah every parent whose spouse is the primary breadwinner and who brings up the family is going to be miserable???
mazdapow3r@reddit
I'm sorry, there's a show? Where?
Touliloupo@reddit
On the pirate bay
Gay4BillKaulitz@reddit
The Smallest Cog made a cameo appearance on Clarkson's Farm. They took on some work involving a tractor.
kaijumoviefan@reddit
Hopefully that means a US release of Workshop.
yomancs@reddit
I was trying to find content of them working on the tractor, does it not exist?
Harre57@reddit
It wasn't included in Season 4.
It may be in season 5 depending on the filming schedules for each show
Proud_Contract_5097@reddit
When Clarkson dropped off his tractor, Montgomery's car was in the forecourt next to it fully restored, so it would have been ages ago, so it likely won't be shown.
ambr111@reddit
It may be covered in Season 5 of Hammond's Workshop, as it covers something related to Hammond's show (mechanical work), and maybe there could be implications as both shows are from different broadcasters/companies
Harre57@reddit
Hammond's Workshop is broadcast through amazon in the UK if you add paramount plus to the amazon subscription.
So i assume there is some deal between both companies
UndercoverSkreet@reddit
Unlikely, it wasn't actually Hammond on the tools for that so they probably did it as a quick favor while he was off biking 😁
PJ796@reddit
That was filmed last summer though
Lickma-Nutz808@reddit
Not sure why you’re being DV’d as it’s true, last episode of Clarksons farm is around the end of harvesting, so August/September of last year.
Argon288@reddit
Was the show actually cancelled? I can't find anything to suggest it was, and some random article claiming it had been renewed in March 2025, IMDB also lists 5 seasons, with season 5 yet to air, obviously.
Proud_Contract_5097@reddit
lol "draw dropping £60,000". Have the Mirror never heard of expensive cars before. 60k is almost standard now everyone's buying SUVs.
Zealousideal-Chef918@reddit
Was it cancelled? I've read it was renewed for a 5th season
E400wagon@reddit
Is there anywhere to watch his show in North America?
Lickma-Nutz808@reddit
UK it’s on Discovery Plus and recently first series aired on the discovery channel - I know Putlocker has S1/2 but nothing after that
Icy_Win187@reddit
Usa does not have it on the discovery app for some unknown reason ive only been able to find a couple episodes on the internet randomly from season 1 cant believe there already 4 seasons in and they haven’t let us in america see it
IVCrushingUrTendies@reddit
You need to use a pirate ship ⛵️
MrWarfaith@reddit
Buddy look at the DriveTribe YT Channel, the smallest cog is running as a shop, subsidied my Hammond obviously.
pogonotrophistry@reddit
Does OP lack critical thinking skills, or does he lack the internet?
GandalfSwagOff@reddit
Peoples' access to the internet has ruined their ability to think critically.
KaleidoscopeBig9950@reddit
last i heard hammond's workshop was renewed for season 4?
Mensketh@reddit
Didnt Hammond and Izzy assemble a Caterham on Drive Tribe, at the Smallest Cog, like a month ago?
cwhitel@reddit
Wait, there’s a show? I thought it was just drive tribe stuff!
TheNittanyLionKing@reddit
What network is it even on? Is it available in the US? I remember seeing the announcement for the show, but I haven't seen it on the streaming services I have.
kaijumoviefan@reddit
It's not available in the US on any streaming service.
ian9outof10@reddit
What a peculiar decision. Still, that’s Warner Bros. Discovery through and through.
Harre57@reddit
Discovery Plus
TheNittanyLionKing@reddit
I have that through HBO Max, and it has somehow never been in my recommended once even though I watch all the MotorTrend content
Harre57@reddit
We had it through Amazon and it was recommended there, but it would be recommended in the "because you watched clarksons farm" section
CzarTwilight@reddit
Someone put the tools on the top shelf
pogonotrophistry@reddit
Hid the stool
Zofia-Bosak@reddit
The Smallest Cog, that show is shown on Discovery iirc.
Ornet_1281@reddit
Only yesterday, Hammond uploaded a story with a teaser for Series 5
Taeles@reddit
It’s still alive and well, been the base of two episodes of drive tribe on YouTube in last 30 days.
happymisery@reddit
Shop is still going and the show was renewed for S5.
If anyone is interested, the Jenson Interceptor is just on hold at the moment. Its in a Drivetribe video released a few weeks ago. Isaac said theyve got too much paying work for anyone to spend time on it so it's in Hammonds storage barn. Video is the £500 BMW one.
Rainysteve@reddit
Richard Hammond workshop hasn’t been cancelled, they just renewed it for a 5th season
