Does Vets4Pets have a strange policy, or something?

Planning the puppy for second shots and we called them about it, but they were adamant that the shots had to be done precisely 4 weeks after the first ones, not a day after but exactly 4 weeks. Meanwhile another vets allowed more leeway.

We couldn’t do our kittens earlier but had a few days after as we couldn’t get an appointment

I can understand not doing it early, but they wouldn't even let us move a day, or two after, even had the guy saying "well, you'd have to restart the entire treatment process" which just seemed wrong.

I think it depends on vaccine brand, but certainly the second L4 vaccine from Nobivac should be exactly 4 weeks later. Anything outside of that and it’s considered off-licence.

Yes this was the same for our puppy but he could have his other vaccine before that so we could walk him, he was driving me crazy so I was glad we could take him out

Might be better off asking in a pet forum but I think it will be because even a few days after the initial shots can render the first ones null and void - as in its a really short window for the vaccine to be active in their systems. I remember having a similar thing for my cat a few years back. Its also relevant for the annual injections as too much past the year and you have to start all over again.

Thought about it, but from experience of various specific forums/subs is you get a lot of people who are a bit... I'm not sure how to describe it, fanatic maybe, rather than a general composed response like I've had from here do far.

My dog had her boosters recently, usually it’s one visit, this time it was two with a strict 4 week gap in between. Something to do with the manufacturer changing something and also something specific in the water because we weren’t allowed in any water for a couple weeks after.
