Segway Xyber Upgrades

I’d love to some suggestions for upgrades on Xybers front and rear suspension and break upgrades, same for tires. Has anyone done this? What fits? Super73 stuff may work. I’m also thinking about adding panniers. The bolt holes on the frame are in awkward placement for panniers. So I’m thinking using p-clamps to suspend panniers from the seat frame. Would love to hear from ya’ll.

Someone on xyber Facebook group swapped Magura MT7e quad piston breaks and retained break light functionality. Seems like 250mm shock fits in the back

Hey, that was me, (using an alt account on FB) I’d just want you to know that I tried increasing the rear rotor size on the Xyber and it did not got well. The mount for the caliper seems to rub against the rotor causing irreparable damage to the adapter and rotor.
The Xyber fits every shock I’ve tried from 240 all the way up to 290mm you just have to be aware of the shock travel and the change in seat height.
The Xyber needs a female to female julet extension cable in order to retain functionality. For some reasons the stock brakes use a male to female julet connection.

I’m looking to update my brake to Madura do you have any suggestion where to buy and how to install on xyber
DimitriTooProBro@reddit
I bought these two MT7e from Amazon. But I have since upgraded to Magura Gustav Pro purchased from Magura directly.
Unfortunately, at moment, there isn’t a lever blade for the Gustav that lets you have a functioning brake light. Magura has stated that an updated lever blade with brake light function will be available in 2026.
The installation is simple just remove the original brake system then put the Magura brakes on following the same steps in reverse order.

Why did you go from the MT7e to the Gustavo pro?

Sweet! Thank you for the update!

Not sure about front suspension.
But rear: look into fox and the like. Spring suspension with no linkage... Might benefit from the progressive rate of an air spring
Brakes: 220 rotors on the front are tough to complain about. You could put bigger on the rear. You can get thicker rotors too (though I'm not sure what comes on that bike). You can also look into seeing if the 250mm rotors from the emoto folks fit. Mind the bolt pattern. If you swap forks, some have dual rotor mounts. Would need to build out a different hub too
Tires: Upgrade is.... A strange word here. What did you want out of your tires? There's tubeless options, knobby, smooth. If you want the "I never want to think about my tires" route there's always lacing up a set of motorcycle rims too
Panniers: Honestly you might just look into fabbing a mount in place of the rear seat-shelf-thing.
Super73: There is nothing there that would be an 'upgrade' if I'm being entirely honest. Super73 is a bicycle moped thing. This is more of a proper e-moped. I think anything you'd put on from an S73 on this rig would be a downgrade.
Honestly though.... Your xyber? From the spec sheet, I really don't have a ton to complain about on the thing. It seems pretty well-fit out of the box. I get wanting to fiddle, but I think you'd be hard pressed to really transform your ride. It's a good bike

Appreciate the response and apologies for the delay. Thank you for thoughtful suggestions. Breaks and suspension are def poor quality, multiple people in forums are reporting poor and loud break performance, suspension is too soft and not progressive. I wanted city specific tires and not mix use ones.

Technically, the shock on the Xyber is progressive since the spacing between the coils aren’t consistent throughout it’s length. It’s just really soft. I’m assuming 100lbs-200lbs spring progression.
bumb3rb00m@reddit (OP)
I’m at 145-150 pounds and it soft for me.

I’d say try an linear shock with 2 or 3-way adjustment (preload, compression & rebound)
Like the DNM MKAR or similar. Start at a 250lbs spring and work your way from there.
