Can I somehow fix it or should I replace the entire chain?

I guess I don’t NEED to fix it right now but it sucks not being able to pedal.

Buy new chain
SnowDrifter_@reddit
Chain break and quick link to get you home
Then replace the chain
Be careful. If the chain breaks and gets wrapped in your spokes, it's going to break a LOT of stuff on the bike

I am home lol. I ride this to work, I’m trying to remove the chain altogether since I could just use the battery but the chain is woven into the frame😞don’t have the right tool to disassemble the frame

Just take a dremel or some cutters to it tbh. A new chain will have something called a "quick link" to facilitate chain install/removal, but a lot of new bikes don't. I'm on board though... This one is a liability
Just be careful about the load you put on your motor so that doesn't get toasted while sorting the chain
Mind your derailleur - some will contact other bits without the chain tension present.

How are you going to get the outer links and the pin off with a dremel without damaging the chain?
Chain breakers aren't expensive. Use proper tools.

I was planning on that chain being replaced. If one link busted like that, it calls the integrity of the rest of the chain into question for me. Cutting it off was a stop gap measure until OP can get a new one

Gotcha. Sound plan.

You don’t have something to cut it with? Just cut or snap that one broken link off than deal with it after work

Just turn the broken link and you should be able slide it over to remove the chain. A chain breaker would make it easier to remove the other pin so you could use a quick link on it. If you have a hammer and punch you could use it as well to remove the pin with the chain off the bike.

You're going to replace the chain. You get to decide if you'd like to do it at home or by the side of the road somewhere.

Get a chain tool, this one’s $3.99

Get a master link and repair it. You can go on Amazon and get the tools to fix this for cheap.

Had to uber to work. But I will order this so I can DIY, doesn’t seem so complicated. Thank you!

Looks like you might be able to pop it back in with some vice grips. Ive always fixed my chains with some pliers, vice grips, flathead screwdriver and a vice. Also you can find new chains that come with that chain tool thingy. I don’t know how to use one but i have been fixing my chains the hard way since i was 12. My parents always made me try fixing the things that i broke before getting a new one.

Like said you can replace that link with a quick/master link and you shouldn't need to replace the chain unless it's broken like that in other sections.
All my bikes chains have quick links and I don't remember ever breaking any at that point.

You can fix it with the right tools and expertise. There are some farm stores around here that'll fix chains for you for pretty cheap but I live out in the boonies. Not sure what the big-city options are like.
