15 miles to work, very hilly, some logging roads involved. Tero X 4.0 or salsa Confluence Flat Bar cues 11?

Hello! I enjoy biking around town, although not as much as i would prefer, I have an old specialized rockhopper that is a beaut but very slow, with that being said. I've been entertaining the idea of biking to work, unfortunately, I work maybe 15 miles one way, through long and steep hills with the possibility of a few logging roads tossed into the mix.

I am just shy or 6'1 180ibs.

The tero x 4.0 seems like it would get me to a lot of places that I normally could not do with a shorter commute time, and my local bike shop has them on sale for $ 3,900.

Though the salsa is one sexy bike and looks like more of what I am used to, with a lower price tag, but probably will take me a bit longer to reach work and I would hesitate taking it much on the long logging roads for the scenic route back home, which would be maybe 20 miles.

I would probably have the opportunity to charge the bike up at work.

I probably wouldn't carry to much, but occasionally I would like to haul a few things here and there for shorter rides.

If any of you have recommendations or suggestions, I would love to hear what you have to say!

Thank you!
