Found in a garage. Only writing I could find on it is patent pending. Anyone know what it’s for, reverse image search was useless

kinda looks like this Norinco SKS 7.62x39mm Police Trade-In Rifle with Bayonet and Folding Stock | Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore
earthfart@reddit
This is the correct answer as I have that exact stock for a Yugo SKS even though the bayonet doesn't fit. It's a totally garbage stock Don't bother with it.
Paulie_Berserker@reddit
I had bought one for my Yugo SKS before I sold it. Much better than the wood stock for me.

This is gospel.

get some more pics of the other side. and the inside. ive seen this style popular with bubba'd sks.

*improved sks's. The top button side folder stock increases the lop a good 2 inches. Unless you are a 5'4" Chinese soldier or a Russian with a big coat, the lop of a standard SKS is gonna be way too short. The top button stock fixes that and is the perfect balance of being light and handy. It's just light enough to leave a bruise through a T-shirt by not so light that you can't shoot a few thousand rounds in a sitting. If you are of average height then holding the pistol grip with your arm relaxed at your side should have the tip of the barrel a half inch away from the ground. Why is that important? It's not, but you will know what Cinderella felt like when the slipper fit her like a glove. For a national average 5'8" American, the top button stock fixes everything wrong with the rifle. Wrap a wash rag around the butt pad and you can shoot forever without ever stopping. It's perfection, unlike almost every other folding stock which ends up feeling cheap, wobbly and janky.

Could be for a Ruger 10/22
SweetObjective6396@reddit
Looks like it’s for a sks but without additional photos showing things such as where the mag, fixed mag or clip may be fed and such no one can tell for sure but u do know one just like that was made for the sks, by tapco or something
ghost_nb@reddit (OP)
Can I dm you more, It only let me attach one photo?
SweetObjective6396@reddit

I believe it wasto be a Choates stock for a Ruger Mini 14.
Paulie_Berserker@reddit
I had this exact stock on my Yugo SKS but had to swap the blade style bayonet for the triangular style like the Norinco had.
DNCOrGoFuckYourself@reddit
SKS, I literally have this exact same one packed away somewhere.
D_Rock_CO@reddit
Same here. Was given one with gas issues and this stock. I recognized it immediately.
Da_Cum_Man@reddit
Could be a replacement stock for something like a .22 or a Mini 14
xxandrethegiantxx@reddit
My dad had a stock like this on his mini 14 when i was a kid. I think it was a common style aftermarket stock in the 80s-90s. As someone else commented already too it could be for an SKS too they made a lot of stocks like this for the SKS.
BreakerSoultaker@reddit
My first thought was Marlin .22 folding stock. It looks sort of like the Pro Mag version but not quite.
