Saw this Range Bag at my Costco this Week

Don't know if it is a super duper good deal but the bag looks fairly large. They also have a Kryptek Double Rifle Bag for $60 which replaced the Savior bags.

I got one. It comes with two pistol cases as well.
ProffDaddy13@reddit
And they're nicely padded and in Kryptek too.
ProffDaddy13@reddit
I use one every week. Love it.

I looked at them..not really great quality..they aren't made with closed cell foam and the zippers are an off brand if I remember correctly. I'm not putting my expensive rifles in just any bag..unless they made with closed cell foam!

What's the vs alternative so I can Google what you're talking about?
AldoSig228@reddit
Savor makes some with a combination of open and closed PE cell foam. Case club uses PE and Seahorse cases are usually GTG. They're others out there look around.

Just keep in mind that a really big range bag will also be a really heavy range bag once you fill it with all the stuff it will fit. For that reason, I prefer multiple smaller range bags instead of big ones. In fact, my main range bag is a backpack since I never have to put down my bag with thousands of dollars worth of gear, even to go to the bathroom. Backpacks are harder to dig stuff out of, but it's still worth it to me for the advantage of always having both hands free.

I use an old leather shoulder bag something akin to a lawyer or executive would use to keep documents in. Got a great deal on it at an antique mall. Its deep enough to fit a pistol case and boxes of ammo down in the main pocket. Theres enough room to fit my magazines and safety glasses in the two front pockets and still fold the top over and clasp it.
I love the idea of having a "range bag" that doesn't look like a range bag. If I have to stop somewhere and leave my bag in the car, a gun is the last thing you would think would be in it.

I couldn't agree more. I found that making my heaviest bag a backpack is the way to go for weight bearing. The biggest bag should contain the lightest things like protective gear, target stuff, etc. Do not get big bags and fill em up with heavy stuff (firearms, ammo, etc)
hossless@reddit
Second this. North Face Recon is my preferred choice. Light, priced right, plenty of room and that front mesh pocket is perfect for ear pro.
I do keep a traditional range bag in the trunk, but it holds the cheap stuff. Staplers, staples, extra pasters, pens, tape, small targets, etc. But the backpack is for gun(s), mags, timers, range finder, and all the stuff that would sting to need to replace.

You should check out the tactical backpacks with the gun sleeves that just slide in and out. Hold their shape and easy access to everything but just like giant range bags they can get pretty heavy once stuffed with ammo.

Exactly! I always found it kind of funny that so many people are so focused on their EDC being all decked out like a duty belt for their trips to Walmart, yet they regularly walk around with thousands of dollars of gear in a bag they're carrying in their draw hand. I'm surprised I don't hear more about guys getting rolled for their range bags in parking lots since there's no way they could draw to stop it from happening.

Costco selling reloading supplies and ammo would be a wet dream. They occasionally have excellent 4 pack ammo boxes for dirt cheap too. Id upgrade to executive if they went all in on this niche 😆
Plenty_Pack_556@reddit
Those 4 pack ammo boxes ain't ammo boxes. They are meant for storage of everything other than ammo. Of course if you wanted ammo in it, you'd fill only about 50% of what real ammo boxes would hold.
But then again, new, rookie, plinky shooters wouldn't really know the difference.
shaffington@reddit
Hah for the price, don't care. I store primers/projectiles, experimental small batch loads, spare parts and small tools in em. They are perfect for that. I have plenty of real ammo cans for bulk.
Zaddam@reddit
They are really good prices on actual ammo cans via Amazon, including like 4 packs of large cans, black metal, locking holes, sealed — for ultimately less than the ones you’re describing and way easier to store.
NakedMuffinTime@reddit
I still dream about a 4 Glock family pack at Costco...
its@reddit
Damn!
shaffington@reddit
😂 one day...
Zaddam@reddit
Costco led me to become a Kryptek direct customer, a few times now since. They make great gear and clothing. Birdseye Mesh FEELS like wearing nothing but also like full shade. A good selection in their Clearance Outlet too, to test it out.
tykaboom@reddit
It's happening!
(Guns are becoming mainstream again!)
Beebjank@reddit
LMAO me and my gf were just examining these an hour ago during our Costco trip. They're pretty neat.
USofAThrowaway@reddit
I mean the only bag like that I see on their site is $90. So if it’s the same bag it’s a win
NakedMuffinTime@reddit
What's on the website more often than not doesn't match store inventory.
USofAThrowaway@reddit
Yeah big “if”. I know they often sell a budget model in store for the lower price.
mcgunner1966@reddit
I have one. Good bag. Ammo, cleaning kit, targets, pistols. It all fits.
goshathegreat@reddit
Kryptek makes good stuff, I’d buy one if you need a range bag.
KeithJamesB@reddit
I think I'd wait till the Saviors are in stock.
arethius@reddit
I grabbed one of these... ask me what you wanna know
it was $64. A 50cal ammo can will fit in the center compartment. Does not fit glock stendos very well. 2 padded pouches for pistols.
overall, pretty good for the price/comparable bags.
bmx13@reddit
They seem pretty nice but have them ziptied closed so you can't see what the interior setup is like
blacklassie@reddit
I’ve seen them in the store. I don’t know what the interior looks like but I don’t think you can go wrong for $50. If anything breaks on it, Costco will take it back no questions asked.
