Staying in Montenegro long term? Spain? Thoughts info help please.

I am bringing my daughter into Spain for maybe a year, and working remotely in Montenegro and perhaps opening my business in country as well, so she can get much needed medical care. In the US it will cost an absurd amount 50k and up. In Spain maximum 20k. So, I am thinking about liquidating and moving us. Long term or up to a year or longer.
Since Spain is a bit more difficult to get a Visa longer term for us since I am self employed snd not a contractor, I am thinking of opening my business in Montenegro and also still working remotely. Thoughts?
Tell me what you think of both countries : culture, Healthcare, towns, community? Immigration tips?
I'm not looking for big city, but well sized towns, food, visa info, Healthcare, longer stay accommodation that isn't crazy high.
Any insights, please, it will help so much.
My daughter has a genetic condition which caused lack of enamel and denten on her teeth. America is crazy overpriced and what they recommend is crazy to go through. As well she has Endo issues which are better dealr with overseas as well.
Thank you for any tips and information.
She is 18. Too young for so many health issues. So it will be just two women traveling.

If you're self employed through your own company, DN might be available. What do you do?

I'm a wellness consultant. I work within nutrition therapy, nutrigenomics, and herbology. So, my clients are everywhere, and 80% is remotely.

Do you work for your own corp, or direct as 1099?

Right now Direct 1099-K.
I am a Sole Prop LLC since 2007

Ok, so IANAL, and you should talk to one. But if you've had a LLC for 18 years, with provable revenue, that should get you a DN.

IANAL? Oooh i hope so, that would be fantastic!

As a Montenegrin living in the EU, I can tell you that Montenegro has a shitty healthcare, especially if you are dealing with a somewhat rare disease.

So far the rare is her teeth.

Montenegro is a beautiful country and is located in a beautiful area (Adriatic coast). Croatia is one of my favorite countries. While I didn’t explore Montenegro so much, I’m not so sure if I would want to live there (at least compared to having also lived in Spain and Austria). You and your daughter would have more opportunities in Spain (employment and healthcare). That being said, I did meet a family from Ukraine that migrated to Montenegro (pre-war). The father was some kind of entrepreneur. Overall they enjoyed the time they spent there but they ended up moving to Croatia for better quality of living.

Maybe we can stay there for a bit until we find our longer term place. A lot will depend on what countries require for residency visas if her care takes longer than a month or two.

For Montenegro, if you will be traveling frequently then a suggestion is Herceg Novi, it is not too far from the Dubrovnik airport with its cheaper flights .Tivat has flights but more expensive. I find Podgorica depressing but I’m not so familiar with it. For Spain, it would be difficult to live without a visa. Can you get a digital nomad visa?

I am unsure. We have passports, and getting our background checks done, But I am HOPING they allow me to get it taken care of in country.
I have been a wellness consultant for 17 years, hopefully that is enough to prove my income and validity.

I emailed these folks (https://youtu.be/8toKNeF0T2M?si=lxCj3Y1Yc_iiRkRV) and they forwarded my email to the attorney featured in that video, with whom I have emailed a little. Montenegro's digital nomad visa is tax-free, it seems like the privileged places to live are quite nice, you can drink the tap water, and the cost of living is lower.
Thought I'd let you know about that.

Thanks, I'm going to email now :)

No advice just wanted to send prayers for you and your daughter 🙏😊

Oh thank you so much. She is not dying, but her issues are chronic until we get them resolved, so, I sat and thought, and decided we need to move. I've heard great things about both areas.
