What’s the best car scratch remover?

So, the mrs drove the car to close to a bush yesterday and now there are faint scratches all across the side of the car. What would you guys use to get rid off some of that? I tried to just rub them off but that’s not working.

t-cut is great for it ... we did some on my dads merc that was being sold (we sold to buy a van type car that fits his wheelchair) on the slightly deeper ones we got a little touch up paint then did t-cut a little after to blend it in - took loads of small scratches right out and made the one worse one almost impossible to see

Most of the 'scratch removers' are pretty ineffective by hand. As somebody else has suggested, either get a DA polisher and do it properly, or get the car looked at by a detailer. Look at something like the DAS-6 bundle on in2detailing - it's a decent budget polisher and I'm pretty sure they do bundles that offer some starter pads etc. The fact that you're bothered by the scratches indicates you're interested in the upkeep and appearance of your car (I only say that because some people really aren't) - and if that's the case, a polisher is a pretty useful additional to the toolbox.

Have they gone through the lacquer? Depending on the car there may be several coats to protect the paint.. I did the same to my car and bought a polisher and just kept going over it with wax took a few goes but sorted it.

If they catch your finger nail you need a respray, if not you'll need a cut and polish. 3M, Carpro, Koch Chemie, Meguiars do great compounds and polishes, and you'll want a DA polisher for them. you'd be better of asking a detailer for paint correction.

A decent car polish, like Autoglym, should do that; it has a very gentle cutting action. But note that you'll have to do the whole car, otherwise you'll have one very shiny panel. Failing that - T-Cut
