Best Vietnamese pho in Dallas?

I’ve heard some different takes but I’m not looking for like a high end dinner restaurant just like hole in the wall spots good for lunch, thanks. Also I live in Oak Lawn so closer to there would be best. I’m banned from askdfw so I came here sorry.

Pho Bang
queenannesgout@reddit
I’m Viet and this is my spot. Their meatballs are top notch
neohanime@reddit
This is because the meatballs they use are the same from Garland's Vinh Huong I believe.
itsme42069@reddit
Same! +1 Pho Bang
neohanime@reddit
My go-to as well. Anyone know why they closed for a month? Sign on their door says be back June 17th.
AlienvsPredatorFan@reddit
I’ve been going here for 15 years and they have never, ever disappointed.
One of the reasons I bought my current house is because I can walk to Pho Bang.
tml0088@reddit
Yep. Was also my fav spot in NYC
Gigantor2929@reddit
Ate at the Pho Bang in Metairie outside New Orleans all the time growing up. Didn’t know there was one in Dallas
marvintran76@reddit
Been going here for 25 years and my parents have been going like 10 more years than that since they came over
dan1361@reddit
Pho Hung in Grand Prairie is the only place I'll go. Otherwise, I make my own over a couple days at the house.
moving_waves@reddit
Yes! Glad Pho Hung showed up here. Love it
Hole_Milk_222@reddit
same 10/10

i love the spicy beef pho at ngon on lower greenville.
as previously mentioned, pho bang, pho bac, and pho pasteur are great.
and omg, the pho at cosmo’s is incredible!
FMEngineer@reddit
I’ve read through every comment and no one has actually said the best pho spot. I don’t want to put in on Reddit because it’s already getting some notice and I don’t want it to be busier.
DM me though and I’ll share the name.
FMEngineer@reddit
Especially top comments lol. Pho bac and pho Pasteur are nowhere close to the best pho

Ngon

Cosmos in Old East Dallas.
I can't say with authority that is the BEST, but it's way better than it had any business being.
liberal_texan@reddit
The story behind their pho, when the current manager took over he brought his grandmother in to teach them how to make it. Their oxtail pho is incredible.
bottleofsanitizer@reddit
There's a sizable population of Vietnamese folks in Garland and Richardson -- especially Garland where there is a Little Saigon village area. I would personally start with the region of where the population is rather than just a restaurant. This is coming from an East Asian who takes their Asian food seriously hahah.
vr0oom@reddit
Pho Vietz by the medical district
fruityrootytooty@reddit
It’s in Garland, not Dallas.

Lá Me Restaurant is really good. Pho is really good and famous among Vietnamese community
billybeaneatshisjean@reddit
Phuong nam in Richardson. They have the best bun Bo hue. Spicy udon noodles it’s better than pho I promise.
ShakyIncision@reddit
I like Pho Apple in west Plano. Not sure it’s the best, but it’s definitely a hole in the wall with people who speak the language. It’s my favorite Pho

BaLe Arlington
FranksGun@reddit
Are there other kinds of pho? Like polish pho or what?
burndownthedisco1@reddit
Pho Pasteur is very good. Richardson.
bf2na@reddit
They charge too much, and portions too small. Pho bac all day
burndownthedisco1@reddit
Quality over quantity, all day, every day.
bf2na@reddit
Lol ok chef
Flipsong@reddit
Seconded, stuff is addicting
PassengerOk7529@reddit
I know some good Vietnamese massage parlors. There is no pHO there.
NintendogsWithGuns@reddit
If you want anything Asian that isn’t overpriced and whitewashed, you gotta go north. Pho Bac is the best and it’s relatively cheap.
GokuGokuGoku@reddit
pho bac fell off. pho sen and 286 noodle house make better pho imo.
OriginalGeoff@reddit
Haven’t been to Pho Bac in probably five years. How did it fall off?
JakeRidesAgain@reddit
Came here to say Pho Bac. My Vietnamese boss took me there for lunch one day, promised me the best pho I'd ever had, and it delivered.
FrankUnfilteredPod@reddit (OP)
The United States tried their best to whitewash Vietnam from 1964-1975 and failed miserably so I’m surprised they’re still trying in the states lmao
boibleu22@reddit
As a Vietnamese American, the fuck you on about?
FrankUnfilteredPod@reddit (OP)
I’m sorry
lovelylotuseater@reddit
Dallas was a resettlement city for refugees following the fall of Saigon.
FrankUnfilteredPod@reddit (OP)
No way Jose, I had no idea
TopNeighborhood2694@reddit
This is a myth. Far East Dallas is a traditional Vietnamese neighborhood and still has excellent Vietnamese shops and restaurants like Ba Le.
dan1361@reddit
Grand Prairie is reasonable as well. Can sometimes be a better drive too, lol.
minlillabjoern@reddit
I asked the ladies working at the nail spa I go to (I did, seriously), and they said go to Garland. There’s good Vietnamese food on just about every corner. They said the pho in Dallas “sucks.” 😝
Big_Burritoe@reddit
Honey I do pho you.
Suziannie@reddit
Moved to Frisco from Garland, can confirm. Really missing good Vietnamese food.

Best options inside loop 12 are Vietnam, Dalat, Ngon, LaVui, Cosmos, Sapa House, and Malai
marvintran76@reddit
Those are probably the best in Dallas proper but compared to like other spots in Garland/Richardson, they’re trash.
guru-relegated@reddit
Also agree. Just considering the request for close to Oak Lawn
Wonderful-Ant-9448@reddit
I completely agree and I live in Dallas previously in Carrollton. Would also add them to this list. Pho Pasteur Carrollton so good
mixem143@reddit
Agreed 100%. You need to leave Dallas proper to find the best pho.
I recommend starting with Pho Pasteur in Richardson.

You gotta go to Garland for that.
Ferrari_McFly@reddit
286 Noodle House in Garland.
The best Viet in DFW is out that way. Pretty surprised that they don’t have a formal Viet-Town.
blanknullvoidzero@reddit
The shopping center at the intersection of Walnut and Jupiter was called Little Saigon at one point.
AnastasiaNo70@reddit
Hi Chi Min Trail is what it was called in the late 80s!
boibleu22@reddit
Maaaan I’ve been a half dozen times to 286 and it’s bomb, BUT THEY HAVE NEVER HAD THE FRESH NOODLES DAMNIT

FrankUnfilteredPod@reddit (OP)
I said fuck off to a moderator who was cornering me for not being specific on every little detail of my question at the time and he just said “okay I’m banning you bye” and that was it
BigYogi@reddit
We are so lucky to have so many awesome spots like this in Dallas. People talk about Austin and stuff but we got the goods.
Ricard728@reddit
I like Saigon Block in Richardson, Pho Station in Sache and Pho Is For Lovers in Richardson.
darthdoro@reddit
I did not like Pho is for lovers :/ not a lot of choices there and their soup was lacking in flavor
Ricard728@reddit
I’ve never been there but I order it with Uber Eats pretty often. I thought it was good.

Vietnam on Bryan street is pretty good . Also Bistro B in Richardson … by Hong Kong market
Cheapthrills13@reddit
A place on lower Greenville, Ngon, just received a bib gourmand award from Michelin. Not sure what their pho is like but what I’ve had there is very good.
ChilliWilli214@reddit
Ba Le in Arlington is all u need to know.
kitsunegoon@reddit
Pho Bang in Garland, Pho Pasteur in Richardson, and Pho Bac in richardson are all very good.
Pho Mac and Oishii have good pho but it's overpriced (and the Oishii portions are criminal for how much they charge)
