It's your right to have a "truck gun" just as it's my right to call you an idiot for it. There is no positive to having a dedicated "truck gun" that isn't solved by just carrying, or bringing a gun from the house.
It's all risk, no reward. You want it as a fashion statement.
A truck gun is traditionally a long gun that you can’t carry but want to have in your possession while out and about. You can definitely argue about the practicality and the risks of having it stolen, but it makes sense. If I run into an angry mob or a gang banger or mass shooter, I’m going to wish I had more on me than my subcompact edc
You’re not getting what I’m saying. You can carry your EDC into a store or work, but not necessarily a backpack or rifle case. However, there are plenty of circumstances where you may be either in or near your vehicle and want access to that long gun.
Again, I’m not arguing about whether or not it’s worth the risk of having the gun stolen. I’m just explaining a concept that you’re clearly pretending doesn’t exist. There is absolutely a benefit to having an AR-15 nearby.
You most certainly do not understand this conversation and you’re determined to be pedantic.
I never said anything about leaving a gun 24/7. I’m explaining the benefits of having a long gun in one’s vehicle.
I’m not claiming police are paragons of anything. Lmao. But you have to be really stupid not to understand that they have general tactics that apply fairly broadly for a reason. Long guns accessible in the cruiser is just one of those tactics which I was pointing to for a point.
I try not to judge these ”dorks” as you call them too harshly. It’s hard for people in the city to understand simple concepts of daily life like dispatching coyotes or rabid critters. That being said, i carry a pistol in my pants, to me the point of a truck gun is something with 3 points of contact and a cartridge that can extend my range significantly over my pants pistol.
Went today for the first time and put 500 rounds through it. Not a single issue. All 500 rounds ran flawless. Gun is insanely accurate. Best trigger I've ever felt on a pistol.
If that's the best trigger you've felt do yourself a favor and don't pick up any mid tier and above 1911, CZ Shadow / TSO, or pretty much anything in the higher end striker fired category.
Ignorance is bliss lol.
I had a USP Expert. Sweet gun, good trigger, felt like holding a 2x4 in my grip though. I wish the grip was slimmed up an bit. Would be perfect.
And you will not be disappointed in any way, shape, or form.
Excellent choice!
I've had 2 USP''s, 1 9mm, and current .40.
I want like all of them...every, single, one
Pretty much! I opted for an AP5 over the real deal SP5, just because I was saving almost a grand, and it's pretty much the same, save for a few bits and bobs...oh, and the HK stamping.
I had a USP 9mm back in 97-98...I gave $540 before taxes, transfer, background check (In VA during the ban) and waiting 4 days....when you could get a Ruger or S&W for like 250-300.
I've always had champagne taste on a beer budget.
I just don't understand how people enjoy these curved triggers. I like Omega cause it has a flat spot on the face but these HSP style half circles are painful to look at.
Me: Why the fuck would he pay $1300 for a USPC? It's been $800ish since I bought mine in 2013. checks gundeals LOOK, RIGHT THERE! USPC 40 - $750. USPC 9... Oh... Woah...... $1250...
Awesome gun. Wish I bought mine in nine, but even with the red headed step child caliber, it's still a fantastic piece.
As I started reading your comment I started getting pissed thinking I was dumb and overpaid but then I saw the last part and my blood pressure went back down. Thanks for the rollercoaster
Hahaha glad to help. Actually bummed to find out they kept up with inflation; I was kind of tossing around the idea of selling it and getting the 9, which I thought was much closer in price. I'm sure I'd lose a ton selling it, so I guess I'll just buy more ammo for it...
I spent the money and bought one mostly because I wanted a da/sa gun of this size and because of the storied reliability. My first time at the range i must have had 50 stove pipes. It didn't like freedom munitions ammo. I get that it was the ammo, but my glock and m&p shield had no issues with the same ammo. Damn I want to like this gun but thst rely soured me.
I used Fiochi 115grain. User manual says a break in using that is reccomended. Funny part is my German MP5 hates anything other than 147 grain subs. Maybe because I run suppressed 100% of the time. Hk is definitely picky about what ammo it likes for dinner.

But again, you can just bring it with you, and not leave it in your car 24x7.
A "truck gun" is generally a gun kept at all, or at most times, in the truck. And there's no actual benefit to such.

You're not getting what I am saying. You can bring a rifle from home to your car when it is necessary, without leaving said rifle in your car 24x7.
A "Truck Gun" is a dedicated gun, kept in the truck, at almost all times. It's fucking stupid. But it is your right to be stupid.

That is what a "Truck Gun" is.

is it only a truck gun if you leave it behind for some reason?
