Watching tomorrow war and I noticed a screen attached to the BCM rifle. It’s only on 2 actors guns and never talked about. Just wondering if anyone knows what this is.
RadioRoyGBiv@reddit
Dude looks like he’s a member of Meal Team 6.
duhdoodle@reddit
That's mike Mitchell. He co hosts a post cast about chain restaurants called doughboys... so you're actually kind of right
RadioRoyGBiv@reddit
I would actually listen to that tbh. Thanks! Gonna look it up.
RabicanShiver@reddit
Those unfamiliar with the movie, it's an alien invasion movie, normal citizens are drafted and sent into the future to fight the white spikes. This results in everyday citizens with minimal skills being sent into a meat grinder conflict. Fat guys, women etc.
ExLap_MD@reddit
Concept was kinda cool. But execution was flawed. Should've been a TV series instead of trying to cram everything into a movie.
Roger-the-Dodger-67@reddit
It's just a phone mount.
Loaded with apps for ballistics, navigation, blue force tracking, drone image display, and platoon/squad-level communication. You'd see such apps mentioned in virtually every "future soldier" equipment modernisation project of the last 20 years or so.

Chicken wing holder
Exciting-Insect-8813@reddit
Was watching a movie last night and the swat team was armed with AR-15s with the old school carry handle (which is fine) but no front sight. It almost ruined the movie for me.
sneekypetey@reddit
This and decocking glocks really pmo
sometimesanengineer@reddit
Hammer cocking on a striker fire added by the sound engineer always gets me.
ChaosRainbow23@reddit
Or after they run out of ammo it goes 'click, click, click' even when they are using a Glock.
ours@reddit
So many movies these days with flat topped ARs. No sights at all. Just vibes and prayers.
PakoEse@reddit
It’s Kyle! I wonder if he found Big Foot??
barrybright2@reddit
its a heartbeat sensor, dude just got his loadout drop
snuffy_bodacious@reddit
Tomorrow War was the dumbest movie I've ever seen that I ended up kind of enjoying.

The weapon setup in this movie was so terrible like ACOGs on shorty ARs with blast cans. What on earth were they going for

I must’ve missed this episode of Love, on Netflix

Happily-Non-Partisan@reddit
I've heard enough of the film to know that I don't want to see it.
Who in their right mind would go to fight massive aliens with a short-barrel 556 and god-awful Hera Arms furniture?
swingandmiss32@reddit
God awful?!
I believe you mean "futuristic and cool"
icecityx1221@reddit
If you approach it as a "father-son/daughter come to an understanding against the backdrop of a sus war", its a great movie actually.
Jordan_1424@reddit
At the end of the day, if it slings lead I'm gonna use it. If I had options sure I'll go with something else but sometimes you have to use the tools that are available.
Throtex@reddit
I mean, the aliens in Signs could be killed by a spray bottle of water. Maybe they’re allergic to bullets?
AcumenNation@reddit
I couldn’t get through the first 30 minutes of that movie. I wanted to like it so bad because Chris Pratt is a G. But damn that movie is bad.
Diligent-Parfait-236@reddit
It's a screen attached to the BCM rifle.
In the wars of tomorrow everything will have an LCD for tactical screen battery life readings.
DeathByPolka@reddit
Thank goodness. I hate that nagging feeling that my AR is about to run out of battery.
Diligent-Parfait-236@reddit
Not the AR, just the screen.
Drake_Acheron@reddit
Generally, I know that my AR is out of battery when it doesn’t fire. Then I do SPORTS and that usually fixes it and the it’s easy to recharge the rifle
riversofgore@reddit
Gonna amend to SPORTSF. Adding the F to flip the batteries around.

It's obviously a solar panel for his solar-powered gun. Duh!
Are you sure it's literally a screen or does it just look like one? Could it be some type of brass catcher?
Far-Story6711@reddit
In Modern Warfare 2 they had it, it’s a heartbeat sensor. (Jk I have no idea, just seems like something they added to make it look more futuristic maybe)
crc820@reddit
It’s a cardiac arrest sensor cause ole dude looks like he’s about to keel over. Meal Team 6 is here for the gravy and they’re NOT leaving without the Baja Blast!
lilcoold12345@reddit
Can't blame him. Love me a blast of Baja 😫

That’s the Hollywood attachment. Gotta graduate from TTI John Wick program, lol.
Seriously, prolly some Hollywood stuff
Franticalmond2@reddit
Average Gravy Seal in training.
_SCHULTZY_@reddit
Spoiler:
In the movie, they're drafting civilians with zero training and pressing them into service immediately with a 5 minute medical screening.
MGB1013@reddit
Homie looks like he got to skip the medical screening
_SCHULTZY_@reddit
It makes sense if you see the movie. I don't want to spoil it for anyone.
Its good and worth the watch
trasnaortfein@reddit
Is. . Is that Woosh? You're coooooool!!!!
Intelligent-Age-3989@reddit
It makes as much sense as his forearm cuffs. Probably a beacon range finder thing in the movie. Who cares, it's just a prop of some kind

Like everything else to do with the weapons in that movie, don’t expect it to make sense.
Entire-Confusion4065@reddit
Ive heard that movie was complete garbage. This just confirms it
Full-Metal-Jack-off@reddit
I will never get the time back it cost me to watch this movie.
Entire-Confusion4065@reddit
I'm being downvoted and I dunno why. I damn sure know I'm right
midlife_dadpulse73@reddit
Maybe it's a futuristic iPad to order his Uber eats, I mean, he's clearly a member of Meal Team 6.
😁😅😅
iceph03nix@reddit
Maybe supposed to be some sort of corner peeking system?
They make them already, but could be intended to be a futuristic version of that?
Fresh-Wealth-8397@reddit
Honestly its probably something that was cut from the movie cuz the effect didn't look good or wasn't finished in time.
WiseDirt@reddit
Y'know, I wonder if it might be a video monitor/recorder and there's another small camera attached to the gun somewhere we can't see from this angle so they could capture FPV shots during filming. Could be we're just not supposed to notice it and/or post-production simply missed it and forgot to edit it out.
renasancedad@reddit
Almost looks like it would fit a spare magazine(?) but ergonomics would be atrocious.
Ok_Sky_1238@reddit
If anything, a ballistic computer or container for zero/ballistic notes. Unrealistic regardless looking at the glass and barrel length.
moving0target@reddit
Looks like a movie prop.
MehenstainMeh@reddit
it’s a movie. who knows
