Need a great BMW technician in Dallas area. My year old X3 needs new struts and suspension stuff.

Took my SUV in for service at the McKinney BMW and they replaced the front tires but told me that the two front wheels need new Struts and other parts, as they have been damaged in an impact. My wife drives the SUV and is always super careful with our son in it, and it’s beyond us that how there could be such an impact that can cause struts to get damaged. Can’t afford the dealers rates so need a good technician who can do a great job without the stealership BS.
Thank you!

European service center. They have a couple locations.

Absolutely terrible. Charged me $100 to diagnose squeaky suspension and their recommendation was to replace EVERYTHING. Took it to ZinkWerks and they tightened a few loose bolts for free and it was fixed. For anyone with a VW or Audi, I absolutely recommend them.
OP, the dealer doesn’t have anything to gain by lying to you.

Never had a bad experience with any of my BMWs.

Dallas European Auto in Plano is very fair.

Mporium in McKinney and Eurauto in Plano are good options.

DFW Bimmer in Euless or Ultimate Bimmer in Carrollton
TheOGBumdiggy@reddit
I will only use DFW Bimmer in Euless. Folks are amazing.
soggymangoes@reddit
100% agree! They’ve never charged me for a diagnostic and always straight to it

Blair Automotive is the best German shop in DFW. Great prices too.

Came here to say Blair as well

Junior at Car Clinic on Shady Trail is great! Honest guy, and specializes in BMW
telecombaby@reddit
Can you make it down to Plano? Autobahn is good
redditjunky2025@reddit
any car that had tjose issues after one year is questionable. Or you are driving very rough.
kamsme@reddit (OP)
Not at all… my wife and I are very careful drivers… and love our suv to put it through a derby drive
redditjunky2025@reddit
Then I would get a second opinion, Something doesn't seem right if it was a new car and needed the tires replaced after just one year. They should last 30,000 miles. I wish you both the best.

JP Euro in Garland - they are legit, take pictures and walk you through the entire process step by step. Fair prices

A 2024 bmw? Already out of the 4yr/50k warranty?
Competitive_Cheek607@reddit
Warranty doesn’t cover damage/outside influence
OP, I’m not saying the dealership is or isn’t being honest, but I also think most people don’t understand what kind of impact does or doesn’t damage/bend suspension. Let me ask you this, would you be questioning them if they told you your suspension was damaged, but good news, they’re going to fix it for free?
t. career BMW tech
kamsme@reddit (OP)
I would totally have them fix it for free… but something doesn’t add up, how in the world does suspension get bent? Unless I’m going super speed on a crazy jumpy road?! Or dropped our suv from a 2nd story building… what do you think may have happened here?
Competitive_Cheek607@reddit
That what I’m saying. You’re imagining it must take some crazy scenario, it really doesn’t. Shitty roads are enough, it doesn’t even take a massive pothole. People don’t understand

A-z automotive in Royce city. Mike is best mechanic I know fair and honest guy there’s a reason people come from all around the metroplex (1 1/2 - 2 hr drive)to have work done with him
CS172@reddit
Did the car feel uneasy or different to drive compared to when you first got it?
kamsme@reddit (OP)
Not at all, the ride itself doesn’t feel any different. BUT, what got our attention was the left driver side tire was on its steel threads from the inside, which was hard to notice until the suv was lifted.
Unlucky-Chocolate543@reddit
Just sell it to me. I'll get it fixed, then we can negotiate you buying it back. Deal?
kamsme@reddit (OP)
I love my G01 to sell it, but thanks for the offer lol
AutomaticAffect8664@reddit
Try autoscope in plano
mannymoes2k@reddit
Maybe get a second opinion first before just believing a dealer first. There’s a reason why dealer service advisors make six figures, and it’s not from integrity.
kamsme@reddit (OP)
They quoted me $7k for a brand new hardly run G01… smh

BimmersOnly in Plano has been great to me, I can't recommend them enough. Very knowledgeable technicians and pretty agreeable pricing. They've got a location closer to Dallas as well, but I've not been there.
Arian88@reddit
I had a good experience with Leo from Bimmer Connection. He will send you photos and videos of what is wrong with you and isn’t very pushy.
MehenstainMeh@reddit
I went through front struts and bushing in two years on my IS in dallas. It’s possible that they are cooked, but I would try a different shop. Go to some of the BMW forums and see if anyone can recommend a good indy in DFw
