Trying to download Windows software to update a gaming controller, what are my options?

My computer crashes after a few minutes and it's very slow now. I don't have enough time to get the drivers and install them to my gaming controller.
I don't have any other computer other than my Steam Deck. I downloaded the software but it doesn't work with the methods I tried (different wine layers, different proton layers).
The software I'm trying to use is the 8bitdo firmware upgrade tool. Is there any other way to download and use this Windows software on my Steam Deck? I really want to update the firmware on my controller

Proton/wine/lutris or any other windows compatibility layer don't provide low level access to USB devices that 8bitdo firmware updater requires. If you really can't get your pc working your best bet is setting up a windows VM on your steam deck with an app from discover called "Boxes", passthrough the controller using USB redirection and run the firmware updater app from there.

Did you try running it through lutris?

I'd have to install it on my steam deck.
I might attempt to reinstall Windows on the laptop that crashes but I don't think it'll do anything. It randomly crashes and gets a blue screen.

use a friends windows system.
It would be nice if 8bitdo supported LVFS/fwupd https://fwupd.org/
But as far as I know, they dont.
