I grew up in Chipping Norton and always heard stories of "deadmans barn" in that field. Went up there one day with friends and the barn was just rubble but apparently the farmer hung himself in the barn and it partially burned down. Could be the field was called deadman years before and people made the story up from deadmans barn, or the event happened a long time ago for the field to be named after it.... No idea but I'll have to ask some local friends aha
