Throttle house boys (Thomas Holland and James Engelsman) + Chris Harris. That should be the new Grant Tour cast, I think the chemistry would be there. No disrespect to Francis Bourgeois, but I think his talents are better used elsewhere.

I love the Throttle House guys, and with Chris Harris it would have been the best automotive show since OG Top Gear. But Francis? Can’t stand the guy. He seems pompous and arrogant despite having no skills whatsoever. I won’t be watching, which is a shame as I wish nothing but success for Thomas and James

Get some well known car guys, throw in a random weirdo who isn't known for cars and the whole thing crashes and burns! Why can't they just stick with car guys who know cars and are known for knowing cars? It doesn't seem that difficult and yet they just can't seem to grasp this concept.
I want this to work. Throttle House has been my favorite car channel for years and I've always felt it was as close to a proper successor as I could ever want without copying TG/TGT directly. I want this to work for Thomas and James. I do not want this to fail because of some random weirdo who isn't known for cars and I do not want to lose Throttle House because of some dumb idea from people who never learn.

I think the random non car guy is meant to be like James may, but odd and different... But May is a massive petrol head, he just doesn't have the same taste as a "conventional" petrol head who likes speed and power

It does seem like that's what they are going for but indeed, May was already a car journalist before TG.
I'm going to watch it just for the TH guys. I also want it to succeed but there's an unknown element here that doesn't seem necessary. Who knows? Maybe it'll work.
