Looking to pick up a few dream guns. What would you guys do in my situation?

Hey guys!
AR-15
I recently made $45k from a $5 bet at a casino, and now I want to get a few guns.
Right now, I only own a P365 and a PSA AR-15. So... not much.
I've been really eyeing the HK SP5k. I'm 99% sure I'm going to buy this one.
But I also want a SCAR platform. Here's the issue...
I want to get a nicer long rifle, so the SCAR 16s seems like a solid move. Especially if I'm picking up an SP5k.
But, I found a SCAR 15p on sale for $1999. And I can only find the 16s for around $3k.
What would you guys do in my situation?
Thanks in advance!

If you're lucky you can get one Walther WA 2000. Unfortunately that's it, nothing else.

I would love a WA 2000 in 6.5X55

1 for 250k on gunbroker

Also if your worried about ammo prices you can literally buy the black beard laser academy dry fire system for the SCAR 17 that has digital targets that track your laser shots through the barrel and show you where your hitting the target & they also have a auto trigger reset so you dont have to rack it every shot when practicing with the system. Definitely something to look into especially for big boy calibers due to the $ of ammo.

If your going to get a scar I highly recommend a NRCH SCAR 17 over the 16. The .308 version out shines by far in performance. It's literally a sniper that can be ran in CQB as well while still being able to hit 800+ yards out. I absolutely love my SCAR H & so has all of my buddies that shot it. Super accurate & reliable, & if you really wanted to I believe you could still convert it to 5.56 if you really wanted to. I'd say the AR platform dominates the 5.56 domain, & the scar parts are generally spendy, so in my opinion, might as well go with the rifle that has better performance and damage output for around the same price as the SCAR Light. Also there is practically no recoil on the SCAR H. It feels like your shooting a 5.56 but big boy rounds are flying out of that sucker. 👍

I understand that what I'm about to describe isn't extremely expensive. However, it's insanely fun and cheap to shoot.
CZ Scorpion S2, b&t folding stock ( from 1) , VFG, Rat Work integrated suppressor, Franklin armory binary trigger, plop your favorite Red dot on top ( I'm running Holosun AMES simply because I like the boxy look)
That being said, I spent about four grand on my LMT/Eotech VUDU,Scythe TI and couldn't be happier with that

SCAR is a heavy Pile of dog voodoo.
Fight me.

The 16 agree. The 17 with some mods is a pretty decent platform for purpose, but unmodded I still agree with you

So first, identify what your use cases are unless you are highly, viscerally attached to a specific gun.
Don’t use sale justifications, you’re in a place where you don’t need to impulse buy.
Plan out your options to be what it is you actually both need and want.
In the case of a SCAR, it’s only worth it in the large frame, and even then only with modifications to allow use of different magazines (the scar mags aren’t long enough to allow precision .308 loads or the really good 6.5CM)
If you really want an MP5k clone, do yourself a favor and buy a Zenith, way better parts compatibility with original MP5 components.
If I were in your shoes right now? I’d be taking a buttload of classes with that PSA to figure out exactly what you want
As far as dream rifles, I have a list, but it’s highly specific and the only one that would need this kind of money to do is a Sero GM6 Lynx

The 15p in 5.56 is a terrible choice IMO. That is way too short of a barrel for 5.56. The 300blk 15p is a different story.
GlassBelt@reddit
Go ahead get a Mac & Lage upper, then decide whether you want the next gun to fill a role or just get something you think is cool.
F0rrest_Trump@reddit
Since you are considering a 9mm sub gun why not consider the PSA Jackal in 9mm since you already like PSA? Much less money than the HK which you could put towards a suppressor. Plus the ambi charging handle is better than the MP5 in my opinion when it comes to quick reloading. It has a last round bolt hold open. Also, the SCAR in 6.5 creedmoor would give you excellent range out of a 16 inch barrel. Since you are considering an option for longer range. Creedmoor is a good hunting round and your AR 15 can be your "do all" for everything in between.

So you own the one of the cheapest sigs and a psa ar-15?
And now are looking at HK and FN? Talk about 0-100.
I just placed an order for my SP5 and was told it could be months until they are back in stock, since it was discounted I'm willing to wait but the SCAR is always in stock.
I lean more towards the scar personally in your scenario.
VengeancePali501@reddit
I would go for the Scar 16s over the 15p, however personally I would simply go for a higher quality AR over the Scar, something like a BCM will be much nicer than your PSA and still half the cost of the SCAR 16.
If I were to get a SCAR I’d get the 17s or 20s
lundah@reddit
Personally I’d get a pump action 12 gauge shotgun next. With those three firearms, you can do just about anything.
Killertofu280@reddit
Benelli M4, an Italian classic.

Something with swappable barrels increases the utility. Shorter barrel for home defense, longer for skeet/trap/clays and hunting, maybe even a rifled barrel for larger game.
Freedom_Gundam@reddit
Have you shot a Scar? Are you SURE you want one? Because in all honesty, they’re not any better than a piston AR15.
They’re also heavy, outdated, have limited rail space for accessories, and shooting them suppressed voids their warranty. If it’s the look you’re after, look for an ACR or a JAKL. I’m sure that will get me downvoted by the peeps that spent 4k on their scars though.
SP5K is gtg though. Those are sweet.
MrHyatt@reddit
I would not buy the sp5k in general and I definitely wouldn't buy anything at full value.
budgetbangs@reddit
Get an ap5 and ap5p for the price of the sp5k. You're gonna want to get both versions anyways
RandoAtReddit@reddit
As someone who was looking at a SP5K and ended up going with the AP5P...I'm sure glad I did. That thing is awesome.
Minimum-Web-6902@reddit
I’m gonna get hate for this but I’m psa all the way I would just get their JAKL , just because you have more money doesn’t mean you should change how you live. And they are just as good if not better for half the price.
Entire-Confusion4065@reddit
Man if you managed to turn 5 bucks into 45k...just buy the guns you want, just dont forget to pay your taxes on the win because they WILL come for it. One of my old co-workers won a $55k jackpot at our local casino and didnt withhold taxes...he blew through the money and they came knocking not long after with their hands out.
Deathcat101@reddit
If I had 45k laying around the first thing I'd get is a Barret m107.
And maybe a shiloh sharps.
TarynSkea@reddit (OP)
I already set aside the tax money I owe.
Entire-Confusion4065@reddit
Good deal. You might only wanna go new but check out tacswap and see if you can find deals on those guns used. Its worth the 10 bucks a year to be a member on that site.
SniperSRSRecon@reddit
I would save and get the 17 since you already have an ar
young_steezy@reddit
SP5K all day!
Upgrade your AR later man
Short_KAC@reddit
Buy a SCAR17
TarynSkea@reddit (OP)
Why the 17 instead of the 16?
glockfreak@reddit
I’ve shot the 16 (actual full auto version). It’s all right. Scar 17/20 is chefs kiss (get the Scar 20s). If I ran into $45k I’d get a SCAR 20s as my big boy rifle and then a KAC SR25 if you want a big money 5.56. Personally I have never shot a KAC but it’s a top shelf AR (my most expensive AR 5.56 is a Daniel Defense which are also amazing).
Actually scratch that - if I ran into $45k I’d get a Barrett 50 BMG lol.
CFishing@reddit
Bigger, better, and does something different from your ar for the money.
No point in spending 1500 or 3500 for a 5.56 rifle when you already have a 5.56 covered.
Trooper1911@reddit
Because 16 doesn't do anything an ar15 doesn't. 17 gives you an extremely lightweight 7.62x51mm platform
Larrythegunguy454@reddit
I would go with the SCAR 17.. I lucked up on a SCAR 20S for just over 3K and love it.
retromullet@reddit
I have a fairly comprehensive collection, and my SP5 is my favorite of them all.
TarynSkea@reddit (OP)
What else do you have?
prmoore11@reddit
SP5k all day.
TarynSkea@reddit (OP)
Good call. I am so excited for the SP5k, but feel a rifle would be a lot more utility.
