Turkey's advertising campaign emphasizes the greatness of ancient Turkish civilization:

I'm Greek, and frankly, I couldn't care less. That's their country, and it's within their rights to present whatever they want for ruins that exist within their own geographical territory.
If I remember correctly, they also have a statue or some sign of Alexander the Great inside Instanbul Airport. They dont claim him as their own, though, so its all good.
It's a different story with N. Macedonia, who is trying to change historical facts.

no , we claim our anatolian ruins they are made by anatolians: luwians, phrigians, hittitis etc

Your title is just wrong, they never claim such a thing, at least in the video you sent.

Those are pagan civilizations mate. Zeus would be very sad if he saw a Greek worshiping the middle eastern gods.

What’s ancient Turkish civilization? It was Roman Empire, Greeks, and Lycians. Ottomans in latter stage. I like Turkiye that we have now, and I like the history of everything thats been there before it even more. My only problem is littering. Lots of people just don’t respect the absolute paradise they live in. They should know better

What does the ancient Turkish civilization mean? Why in balkan r anyway isn't r/Asia
masterboss61@reddit
No it isn’t? Why are you posting things if you don’t understand them yourself?
Rock_Zeppelin@reddit
What do you mean "ancient Turkish"? Throughout history there were at least 5 civilisations in what is modern day Turkey, that were not Turkish. We have the Hittites, the Akkadians, the Phrygians, the ancient Greeks, the Persians, the Romans, the Byzantines and that's not even counting the even older neolithic civilisations that built places like Gobekli Tepe.
Like what are we doing here? Cos if we're commenting on shitty marketing, then yeah, shitty marketing. Otherwise this would be like someone calling the Thracians or the south Slavic tribes "ancient bulgarians".

It never says ancient Turkish civilization. It is ancient things in current Turkish land.
Also Anatolia is one of the historically richest land in human history.
