Anyone using a heat pump heating system in Budapest?

Would like to have some feedback from people that are using heat pumps as a main heating system in Budapest. Does anyone use this? Is it worth it? How efficient is it vs gas heating (not just in terms of energy, but price also) for a small flat?

My gf’s place has heatpumps. Well. I see more problems with it.
1) installing a chandelier will require wall metal detector so you avoid drilling into the pipes and believe me you don’t want to take that chance (my gfs dad did that), same applies for drilling in 10cms range from the ceiling
2) it is slow as hell, when it’s in AC mode (the house centrally switches between heat and cold based on the seasons), and for example 20hours going from 24.8 to 23 (maybe we don’t use it properly?), but forget any quick warm or cold, so if you open windows for fresh air… tou know where i’m going.
Tho i don’t know the financial details but for convenience it’s meh.
In my flat i have a gas heater and an AC, it’s on the top floor so it’s hot af, i run the AC a lot, also use it for heating besides the gas thing and i don’t break bank by using them. And i have the freedom to heat/cool anytime, it’s not bound centrally.
Dunno if this helped anything :D

It's helpful, thanks.
I'm also on the top floor with a gas heater (ceramic chimney type) and AC (which I rarely use though). The ceramic heater is also slow, but I don't mind it at all. The reason I was asking about heat pumps is because I got a visit from the chimney city inspectors, and basically the gas chimney (for the water heater) is not up to code and I need to replace it, which is really expensive. They are not even giving me any time to fix it, and someone will apparently come soon to cut the whole gas for my flat "until it's fixed" (and even remove the whole gas meter). Apparently while it might be true that it's not up to code, it's still perfectly functioning. They also wrote some thing which are apparently bullshit on the official document they made (about the window types and airflow). Obviously this is going to be a massive annoying headache (and expensive), so I'm trying to investigate all possible options, including going full gasless (heating and water). But it seems full gasless might even be more expensive and complicated.

There are gas boilers that work with various types of chimneys. You should also talk to other owners in your house about whether they have the same problem.

I think for an existing house it's usually so expensive to retrofit that it will never pay itself off. It's good for the environment though.
Heating with AC works on the same principle and also works well if you have a small flat and it's not very cold outside.

Thanks for the link to /r/lakokozosseg that could be helpful.
