Lol. Uber here is a subsidiary for Főtaxi, Bolt is also an actual taxi company. All drivers need to have the necessary licences, certificates, registration and experience, to be able to drive there. Just because the companies have actually working applications it does not mean they can employ anyone from the street with a driver's license.
If you are worrying about comfort, then take the Uber for 10k.
If you are worrying about the cost, the bus 200E takes you more affordably into the city with regular ticket prices. A 30-minute ticket is 600 HUF and it covers the 200E and the metro after (you have to checkin into the metro within 30 minutes and the 200E bus runs cca. 20 minutes).
You could also look at the 200e, which does not have the airport express pricing of 100E, you can use it with a regular daily / weekly / monthly pass, or a single line ticket.
If you get your line tickets through the mobile BKK app, it's important to scan the QR code when boarding to validate them, otherwise you will be fined.
Uber/Bolt/Főtaxi brings you from door to door. 100E brings you to the city centre. If you have big luggage, it is more comfortable taking a taxi. Other than that (prices, schedule) please use your preferred search engine and your common sense.

the bus is usually packed full and the ride is very uncomfortable, I wouldn’t hesitate to take the taxi especially when split among 3 people

For 3 people I think Uber is fine, only a bit more than the bus.

Even with E100's cost, I've seen it many times being EXTREMELY full. Take a taxi.
