Dallas College employee question

Does anyone know what health insurance company Dallas College uses? I can't find it on the HR page. I'm on a really expensive specialty medication, and I want to make sure it will be covered before I consider switching jobs. Thanks!

I think you get 2 options during orientation. I picked Health Select of Texas by BCBS.

Thank you!

Health Select of Texas by Blue Cross Blue Shield is the health insurance, but Express Scripts is the insurance that manages prescriptions. You should look at Health Select / ERS Express Scripts for actual coverage of your prescription.

This is similar to what I have now. I really appreciate the info!

Not the person you're responding to, but I've been working there since October. They're still kind of getting shit back together after all the colleges merged a few years ago, so it can be a little chaotic. Depending on what area you're in, leadership is either excellent or monstrous.
Overall, people are really nice and welcoming. Benefits are solid. This isn't our exact same benefits guide but looks to be the same plans just based on coverage and limits.

Thank you so much for taking the time!

If it isn't covered, check with the dispensing pharmacy and med manufacturer/patient care folks before making a decision about the job change. I'm am currently on and have previously been on several different highly expensive specialty medications and there are usually assistant programs/coupons through the manufacturer that will cover it if insurance denies, but make sure there is no limit and that it will cover enough of the cost (of the meds people with my condition take, the manufacturer of one specific med recently got greedy and put a yearly limit on their coupon...after spending $$$$ marketing it as the superior med in that group despite it being the least effective for most people, horrible pharma company).
There's also NORD (National Organization for Rare Diseases) if yours is a rare disease and they happen to have funding available.

Thank you so much. I will do that. Chronic conditions are the worst.
