BBQ enthusiasts - where is reputable to buy a quality utensil set?

Buying as a gift for Father's Day. Happy to spend a couple hundred if necessary as my online searches have shown some really high prices.
Thank you in advance :)

You really, really don’t need to spend that much!
I’m honestly not going to recommend you ask the “BBQ community” either. What you’ll get there is the charcoal equivalent of audiophiles - people who know specifications but don’t know why they matter.
Assuming your father is someone who enjoys grilling, but isn’t a barbecue twat, I’d recommend you look at Weber accessories.
BBQ purists will be horrified because they’re a bit expensive based on their name, but again, assuming your father isn’t a BBQ twat, he’ll see the name and know you’ve spent a bit, which is always nice, and it is really good quality stuff.
Personally, I am a bit of a BBQ twat (they say when a man hits middle age he either needs to become a BBQ obsessive or a WW2 obsessive - I chose BBQ), but one of the best implements I have is a Weber spatula. I know the friend who bought it wanted to get me something really special, and he did. It’s really well made.
An alternative that you could pursue would be to get him a rotisserie, assuming he doesn’t have one. To do that, you need to check what kind of grill he has, then do some Googling.
Rotisseries take the casual BBQ fan to the next level!

I think I may be a BBQ twat & WW2 obsessive. I need to find someway to combine the two.
ProfPMJ-123@reddit
To be fair, WW2 did involve a lot of eating outside.

Thank you so much for this. It's actually for my husband for his first father's day so I wanted to make it special. We just moved house and he's so excited to get grilling once he's sorted the garden.
This is so helpful. !answer

That's lovely. Congratulations to you both on the new arrival!
Honestly, he'll be delighted with anything you get him.
Good dads are great!

Cobb utensil set £60 , your budget will get you a whole BBQ 😂

Tesco seem to have a couple different BBQ utensils this year in their firepit range - there's a set of three, and a set within a case that comes with extras - though I guess it'll vary depending on the store whether they stock those. They look decent enough quality, plus you could get some of their firepit food range to go along with it (think they do both fresh and frozen) and hope for good weather! :D

This is a great idea, thank you!
indigo263@reddit
No worries! I'm sure other supermarkets have their own ranges as well but I haven't seen them lol.

Erm....I dunno....ebay?....Amazon?

Garden centres are usually good at overpricing this sort of thing for you. You can probably throw in some local beers, chutneys, honeys etc if it’s anything like the one near us.
DeifniteProfessional@reddit
The local produce is usually worth it though, particularly honey. My garden centre sells a brand of cider from Northampton that I can't find anywhere else that I really enjoy, just not enough to spend £3.29 a bottle on every day mind!
slimboyslim9@reddit
Yeah I enjoy these things too. It’s just safest if I stay away, particularly with my wife!
Guilty_House_5018@reddit
A couple of hundred? On a set of BBQ utensils? You could get the utensils and pack a nice meat hamper with drinks.
I'm shooketh.
pocahontasjane@reddit (OP)
There are some crazy prices online. I don't know what I'm looking for and what budget hence why I'm posting here. His current utensils were just bobby basic but they're not holding up well.
DeifniteProfessional@reddit
Le Creuset does a four piece set. They'll be OK and look fancy in their little case
pocahontasjane@reddit (OP)
Would it be bad if I used the Le Creuset voucher he got me for Christmas? 😂😂

^(What is this?)
divine-silence@reddit
If it were me I’d probably have my eye on one that I particularly wanted. Might be best to ask first?
Iwantedalbino@reddit
There’s nowt complicated about a spatula or tongs.
I’d recommend you post to the ukbbq community.
I have a sportula with my favourite nfl team logo on it. It’s a very robust bit of kit, I don’t know where my tongs came from but they are rock solid.
I’ve been impressed with my grillbuddy for cleaning it so far.
pocahontasjane@reddit (OP)
Grillbuddy sounds good. Thank you.
I just wanted to present it as a nice set rather than individual utensils. We've got a big family celebration this summer and he's excited to cook but I thought I'd upgrade his kit.

I think I bought my bbq briefcase from IWOOT the tools were fine but nothing I’d write home about.

Honestly Lidl’s gear is pretty damn good
Immorals1@reddit
See if you have a dedicated bbq shop near you, usually a fair price.
