Germans based RSO on the Soviet STZ-5 prime mover, then after the war Soviets reverse-engineered RSO and built the KT-12 skidder. There're some rumors that army wanted to use KT-12 as a recovery vehicle and a prime mover for light artillery, but I couldn't find any reliable sources. It was too slow for an artillery tractor anyway, and they already had AT-L tractors.
