CP can mean different things (cyber punk, cheese pizza). CSAM is less common so less people can confuse it.

Can encompass CP as well as other things that we don’t consider porn but still look at and go “oh that shit needs to fucking go”. As with many laws, it’s deliberately vague enough that everything can be reviewed in court to actually determine whether something is CSAM or not

I love getting scam calls who claim are from "windows support" cuz I actually work in IT

So I LOVE to mess with them and feeak them out

Scammer: Sir we have detected some viruses on your machine

Me: oh, which one?

Scammer: what?

Me: which one, can you give me the computername so I can narrow it down?

Scammer: (fumbling and backtracking) uhhh uh there are v-viruses we need to help you

Me: which microsoft support center are you from, no support center ever calls on their own like that, definitely not microsoft

Scammer: hangs up in a panic

I swear this happens almost exactly like this everytime.

Alternatively if I'm feeling lazy I just respond with: ah so my wi dows computer has a virus? Scammer: yeah. Me: that's interesting because I use an apple mac, I don't have any windows pc's

....aaaand they hang up after that.

My friend had a scammer like that and he strung him along for like an hour. The scammer had a massive crash out and said he was going to call the FBI and said my friend did the London terror attack, so my friend laughed and hung up. The scammer CALLED BACK and said he wasn’t finished.

This also applies to spam emails, although I don't think many people reply to those JUST to fuck with scammers: I once replied to a scam email when I was 16 just to try and fuck with the dude, and then within just a day or two, my inbox was full of spam from a bunch of different email addresses

I imagine the time to fuck with email scammers has long since past, though, in the age of AI. You'd probably end up just talking to a chatbot while thinking you're getting "le epic pwn" on some idiot with a computer, unaware that it's the one on yours.
