It's one of the things I love about Alaska, the completely random mix of Native languages, Russian, and English in place names.

We’ve got the same thing going on here in Massachusetts, though I think the English place-names are more dominant here. We’ve also got a Kenmore (though it’s a square in Boston) along with many others like Peabody, Somerset, Ipswich, etc.

Then we have Wachusett, Nonamtum, and Mattapan, not to mention the name of the state itself. I have to admit that your aboriginal place-names are more fun to say than our native ones.
