Chinese e-bikes are reliable?

Hey everyone! I'm launching an online store focused on sustainable tech and currently searching for high-quality Chinese e-bikes. I'm not entirely sure which brands or models to choose—do you have any recommendations? Looking for reliable options!

This is a fake post. Look at their profile... They are also opening a "tech store". Only children talk this way.
Don't feed the trolls.

Yeah, say whatever. Just like I'm free to call you out on your performative attention-seeking posts.
You need help, kid. Reddit's not the answer.

Just another fat, nasty basement dwelling know it all who can't even wash his own damn clothes. Go take a shower man.

Also, find a supplier that has a presence (retail but definitely a warehouse) in the continental U.S.-it makes a difference!

I’ve worked with a few Chinese e-bike brands — some are solid, some are junk. It really depends on the factory and how closely you manage quality. Brands like Tenways, ADO, and Engwe are actually pretty decent if you're looking for reliable options. Just make sure to ask about the battery cells (LG or Samsung are better than generic), motor brand, and warranty support.
If you’re going the OEM route, have someone on the ground in China or hire a quality inspector. Don’t rely on catalog photos alone — that’s how you end up with problems.
Overall, Chinese e-bikes can be very reliable, but only if you vet the manufacturer properly.

Personally, I only trust Yadea that I've tried and Magicycle which I've spent some time in their Facebook Group listening to all the owners. Made in a Chinese factory or operated by a Chinese company are two totally different things. You want an American company ideally who generally speaking is more concerned about their reputation. You dont' want a company that is willing to fold if things don't go well and then reopen under a different name. Recognize the advantages of an American company. Yes, this comment is coming from a Chinese guy.

Everything is Chinese, except stuff you do yourself using Chinese stuff to make them

Chinese or not isn't the issue, quality is. There are quality components made in China, and there are absolute dogshit components made in China.
If you're planning to act as a middleman, this isn't an easy task as without any on-the-ground knowledge it's easy to get tricked by sketchy suppliers overseas.

Almost the entire ebike market is made in China or sources components from China. So it's nearly unavoidable getting something that wasn't made there or has components made there

Confirm UL listing on bikes and batteries. Seems odd you are opening a business without knowing anything about it.

It will all boil down to heresay in your case. There is no data for this, and individual examples are not a reliable way to judge a product/brand. E.g. my 350€ (sale price) chinese ebike (Fiido D3 Pro) required less maintenance in 15 months than my 800€ Dahon Mariner D8 which most people say is the 2nd best folding bike.
A colleague bought the same Fiido D3 ebike, and had controller die. Got a free replacement, but had to install himself. A nightmare for average person.
Usually no gears and belt will mean more mechanical reliability (less things to go wrong), frames are frames (some brands and models had issues with this), and electronics can break down at any point.
Bosch motors people say are quality, but you can't fix them, they are proprietary, which is a dick move.
You should put clear disclaimers for such, whatever it is you end up selling.

Most "European made" stuff is from Chinese parts and all other nations stuff

Honestly, around 90% of e-bikes are made in Chinese factories, Just make sure whatever you go with has quality components and certifications.
