'Back in the day' (80's), where I am, herb was a rarity - it was all resin or oil. Mellower, way more chill, definitely not hallucinogenic (had acid/shrooms for that).

So I did a little research on this after my son’s weed paralyzed me.

They have bred out all the CBD and raised the THC levels into the stratosphere.

If you have legalized weed where you are ask for a low thc high cbd blend. They’ll probably call it “ Granpa’s Kite” or some shit, but you can smoke it and still watch Severance.

THC and CBD were designed by nature to go together. CBD cuts down on all the anxiety.

BTW if you or a friend “greens out” ingesting CBD can really help.

In the 90s for a while everything was dusted in my area. Could not just get weed flavored weed. One reason I stopped smoking back then. PCP or opium. People always talked about "coco puffs" bud dusted with coke. This was when LSD was everywhere. Paper Hits for $2 and liquid drops for $5. This. I stopped smoking in my early 30s because it started giving me so much anxiety. I have learned to enjoy weed again by being very specific about what I consume. I stick with edibles so I have a lot of control in how much I take. And I stick with 5-7.5 mg of indica strains only. If anything, modern vape concentrates can overpower you if you take too big of a hit, but otherwise weed is weed. I think a lot of folks are misunderstanding my OP. (And that's possibly on me, I should've explained a little better.)

I'm not crying about high potency weed. I'm saying I'm surprised no one has capitalized on the nostalgia and interest in our generation by creating a slightly less heavy strain that has the same pop as good weed from back in the day and marketed it as such.

I don't understand, you can get less strong weed. They list the strength for you so you can make that choice. Some are 28% THC and some are 13%. You can also get CBD buds with no THC. Mix that with the 13% stuff and you could smoke a whole 1/8th and not get too high.

What you want already exists, but it's not viable at retail. The taxes to hold the stuff are higher than sales volume.

What you want is weed with lower THC and higher CBD content. One option is to buy CBD flower or hemp from a hemp shop and mix it with your 21st century weed.

CBD levels out too much THC in a person. Modern weed is grown to maximize THC by converting all the CBD into THC. (Simplified explanation).

I mean, you can still buy 10-15% THC bud at most dispensaries. At least here in Denver. The 20%+ THC bud is more popular because people like to get the most bang for their buck, especially on the medical side, but there's still a market for the midrange. Personally, I think it makes more sense to buy the 80-90% THC oil cartridges because you have a much finer control over how much you consume, and it's a lot more efficient. When you burn weed, you lose 30% of the THC through combustion. That doesn't happen with oil. You get the benefit of the full potency with every hit. Instead of smoking a joint, you'd take 2-3 hits. It ends up lasting longer, too. Plus, no odor on you or your clothes. It's just a better option all around.

My roommate got some from an Arkansas dispensary last year that had him hallucinating. It was mostly auditory but he also thought he saw my son cross the hall but he wasn't home.

Now he was in kidney failure on dialysis, so maybe your health might have something to do with it, or what meds he might have been on? I miss the way it smelled back in the day. The good stuff was like this fresh herbal scent. What they have now smells so strong of cat piss and resin, it's overwhelming. And this wasn't bad weed back then. I loved it. We'd all pass around a joint and we'd all be feeling great. I had some my roommate got from across the bridge (where it's legal and sold in stores) we could smell it in the bag. It was in a plastic container but he'd opened it, but it was reclosed, it was just so strong it made the whole bag smell like the cat peed on it. And one hit had me sliding OFF the couch. I don't know it was, but it tasted like Fruity Pebbles and it smelled like cat pee. I imagine there must be expensive cheeses like this.

Yeah, no. I was the local dude with the hook up, I never referred to myself as a dealer. I charged a premium because what you got from me was clean, good and you got what you paid for. I would sit and watch movies for hours on end literally pulling seeds and large stems out of pounds at a time. It was sort of cathartic and at the same time I never had to worry about competition, cuz nobody else was doing that shit, hell I wouldn't have been if I didn't have an excellent hook up who got me as much as I wanted dirt cheap.

As much as I miss the extra capital since weed went legal, I would much rather just walk in and ask for exactly what I want and know for certain that's what im getting. There are lots of strains out there that focus on lower thc percent, do some googlin'!
