I mean that looks like a dirt bike, it's gonna be stopped by the cops immediately and ticketed lol. As for the personal protection gear, motorcycle helmet is recommended for 28 mph capable ebikes, but w this any crash is just for sure fatal or paralyzing, shit sounds fast

not sure why you're being downvoted. whether or not cops mess with you on this thing is 100% based on where you live, and no one knows their local behaviors better than you do.

my friend rides a flashy e-dirtbike around city streets, and he did nothing to make it street legal. the cops just sit back and watch... so far ¯⁠\⁠⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠⁠/⁠¯ plenty more incriminating things happening for them to worry about in that area so I don't think they really want to care.

Yea it even spun my mate out, he's had his for 5-6years I think it's his only transport an cops don't seem to have an issue, he just makes sure he sticks to the speed allowed on ebikes in Australia which is 25kph an he's got 250w sticker on his motor just as I have on my BG-X chopper motor too which is 1500w an does 42mph

I didn't go with a sur ron style bike for this reason. I saw a guy in my neighborhood with one and just stopped seeing him all of a sudden, bet it was the police treating it as a motorcycle. I went for the super 73 RX style, still building it.

definitely check fuses brakes tires and plastics my friend bought a e moto once and when i put the fuse in it tried to turn me into the flash so def pay attention to that and don’t even touch the brakes before putting em on the bike itself

I bought this bike specifically to get my vast bulk up a long 40-degree hill, so absolutely everything's going to be tested (on the flat) thoroughly before doing anything even vaguely adventurous. Also, I used to be a trucker, so I know for a fact that everything on the road is actively trying to kill me.

I live in a touristy area...I expect anything from any direction at any speed at any time.

I'm heading rapidly for 60y.o. anyway, so am not all that interested in the speed (which is the cause of most of the problems), despite having a not wholly legal and somewhat irresponsibly overpowered bike (YAY! It arrived...am currently assembling it with much groaning and swearing but, unusually for me, no personal injury as yet). I probably will see what it can do at some point where it's safe and I can see clearly to the horizon; but in the meantime the speed limit round here is 25km/h and that's just fine with me. I bought this particular machine purely to get me up this particular hill with the luxury of having legs that work the next day.

i bought parts of some kid that took it apart and gave up mid way bought it brand new for around 900 in box he thought he could build it but couldn’t figure out the brakes chip etc etc bought it in box off him for 800 and had him bring it to my house ngl it was pretty hard doing some things alone so i get where he was coming from
