People still buy keymod?
SinistralRifleman@reddit (OP)
No, which is why these are discounted
azgunnit@reddit
I was going to ask if the rest of the upper was worth enough for that do be a discounted price...but the Young BCG is worth almost $200 on it's own. Good deal.

Inb4 the dicmod jokes

Dickmod was the better standard when good manufacturers made dickmod attachments. China couldn't figure it out and fucked up manufacturing so many parts.

isn't it repeatedly proven that MLOK is far more secure than Keymod?
BigShallot1413@reddit
For the average user there is no functional difference.
xKHAZx@reddit
the average user never drops their rifle or hits it against anything? I find that extremely hard to believe.
snackshack@reddit
The average user takes their gun from their safe, puts it in a rifle case, and takes it to the range where they shoot off a bench a few times a year. That's the extent to which it gets used. Mlok is more secure than keymod, without a doubt. That being said, the stuff isn't coming loose just from hitting it against something unless you REALLY smack the shit out of it.
While it's anecdotal, I've still got some keymod rails on my older rifles with attachments. I've run them moderately hard through courses and banged em around. They've always stayed secure. For a duty rifle? I'm going Mlok. For the average user who will shoot maybe 200 rounds a year through it? Keymod is just fine.

All true here, I work at a range that's the most accessible in my area and we get a lot of casual gun owners. Most AR owners own plain Jane ARs and shoot paper at 25-50 yards from the bench with no real pratice going on other than trigger time. A lot of the time folks just maintain a mild rate of fire, no drills or practice going

Man I shoot over 200 a trip...
snackshack@reddit
I think most of us here do, but we're outliers, not the norm.
pandora9715@reddit
If you don't bumpfire at least one full mag, how do you warm up the rifle for consistent practice? Smh.
Consistent_Kick7219@reddit
It's really not even close. People are coping if they think KeyMod is better is ANY way. GunBuilders.com went over the Military's results and MLok won hands down
_not2na@reddit
There was a military test and on paper, MLOK was slightly better but the amount it was better requires you to be a gigantic fucking monkey to see any difference.

If you intend to pair this with the Wraithworks stripped lower, don't forget to pick up either the KE Arms KP-15 Drop-In LPK or the KE Arms KP-15 Enhanced Lower Receiver Parts Kit.

It’s 2025 and people are still manufacturing KeyMod ?
